Side by side comparison of the two (obviously not super accurate since the Yoko’s weren’t under weight):

thanks for your help. I remember you sold your Yoks due to mpgs. I’m having a hard time with deciding whether to go up another size due to that same reason. It’s just since I got another 1.75” lift from my new foxes over my TRD pro lift, my 265-75-16 Yoks look so undersized with this setup. First pic 1-1.5” lift up front, stock in rear. The second pic sitting at 2.75” lift up front and 1.75” rear.

Yeah it’s a tough choice for sure and I still think my 265’s look small but I get way better MPGs, which is important for me since I drive the truck all over North America.

If you’re already running the g003’s, you might not think the mileage is too bad on 285’s. I went from all terrain 265’s to the 285 Yoko’s so it was a big change all around. I guess it really boils down to how many highway/road miles you do.

I actually just took my Bilsteins down from the 5th perch to the 4th because I felt like the 265’s looked silly but I’m not ready to go back up to 285’s yet. If I ever do, it will be a 285 all terrain.

A 285 all terrain is not out of the question because they will weigh the same as my 265 G003s. It’s just that these G003s are so good in deeper snow

@DRob sorry for the late response, but here is an interesting video 265 vs 285 on a Tacoma.

Bit of a long term update

Mounted these up in Feb approximately 15,000km ago tons of hwy, gravel, mud, rock and towing on them now. So far they have held up fantastic some really minor chucking from the sharp rocks we have up here but hardly note worthy. Some cupping on the outer edge but I chalk that up to front end lift while towing putting a bit of positive camber in play.

Noise has increased with wear but I still say it is acceptable given the agressive tread. No MT will ever be truly quiet on the hwy. But there is no mind numbing hum or drone.

MPG wasn't hurt all that much but I'm not quite comparing apples to apples. I had 285 duratracs on heavy fuel wheels as now I'm on 295 G003's on lighter ssw wheels.

Tread wear has been quite good I would say I'm down to around 18/32 now.

So long story short I am still happy with them and wouldn't hesitate to run them again.

Are you thinking like winter use? Or, off-roading in snow?

I used them a few times in winter, as I had just installed them. They're fine in deep, fresh snow. But, as expected, junk on packed snow and ice.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th set of Yoko Geos. Have all been great for me. I did lose a couple chunks here and there on this last trip.
Currently on 37s, I feel like they look small. Last pic is a 37 & a 35 for comparison.

They take a ton of work in the front wheel wells to function correctly for us. I'm still rubbing here and there.

Your better off looking into the G017 for that use. I will be swapping my G003's out for a set this winter. No MT truly belongs on winter roads

I’m at the point where my 35” don’t rub. So it’s time to start over with 37”
