When you pack up too early, but you weren't quite finished. Usually the result of cold weather.

One of the better YouTubers, he did a good job predicting the changes. Honestly Toyota knocked it out of the park.

    - Better ride and handling

    - More comfortable, quiet, and refined

-Smooth engine with better responsiveness and great torque delivery at low rpm, while maintaining a truck like feel with engine tuning and exhaust note

    - EPS has a quick, accurate, and responsive feel

    - Fit and finish are improved

    - Better brakes

    - more comfortable seating position, with better bolstered seats

    -increased utility and payload

    - Looks good

-priced competitively given the current market

    - slight bump in mpg

    - better safety features, interior and infotainment

These will sell like hot cakes

From the may press release: “maximum payload increases to 1,709 lbs. on TRD Off-Road. ”

And from that press release under “smart towing”:

“maximum payload increases on the new model to 1,710 lbs. for i-FORCE Max models.”

With the tundra engine issues, unless its made in the same Alabama plant the tacoma engine will be made in, that reliability means nothing to me until we get some with 30-50k on them.

You would think that they might mention payload when they were mentioning all the other stats on this release. I am guessing I am not the only one that noticed this curious oversight. There is a whole lotta, up to and could be's in all their numbers. (supposed payload, departure, approach, breakover, ground clearance etc) I guess I'll have to wait to be either happy or disappointed when pics of payload stickers start happening next year.

They mention payload on the I force max trucks, they only mention towing on the
    SR5 i-FORCE and TRD PreRunner

    "
Tacoma is up to the challenge thanks to its maximum towing capacity of 6,500 lbs. on SR5 i-FORCE and TRD PreRunner and XtraCab grades, while its maximum payload increases on the new model to 1,710 lbs. for i-FORCE Max models

It’s right next to towing capacity, which seems like a logical place to put it

So the manufacturer isn't sincere about their own posted numbers?

Apparently Toyota is the only manufacturer who cannot advertise “payload capacity up to x lbs,” which literally every truck ever has had advertised

I love all the storage. As for the rest, it looks like a Tacoma that is slightly better on every front than it’s outgoing sibling. Solid, but not revolutionary. Safe. Iterative.

Yeh if someone complains about storage they have a hoarding issue.

Or SR's..as I understand it all the SR's have 6ft bed with leaf springs. So they may not be getting the SR or Pre runner in Canada

I didn't catch that, so smaller tank, minimal mpg gains could actually mean shorter range..that is kind of a bummer.

I don’t mind that because it’ll drain the coffee and sand/dust/kid trash I’ll spill and collect in them.

IMO they are being kind of vague, they have a 6500lb towing number, and 1750 lb payload number and they are kinda vague as to what configuration gets you there.

But to be fair they did the same thing with the 3rd gen with some of the numbers as well.

I wish Toyota did it the way Ram does it. You enter the vin number in the payload and towing site, and it tells you the payload and towing of that truck. makes shopping so much easier.
