    What does one do now…

According to Mat at VF Tuner you have to send in a request to Zendesk and certain information of vehicle registration etc… supposedly he will then allow force flash option at that point.

You would be the first to test this. Let us all know how the new process goes please.

Not what I wanted to hear, sheesh.
Don’t even get why it’s bricked. It said successful flash.

Just for clarity and so others can chime in and add assistance what VF Tuner version are you currently on?

Was a CUW update needed prior to flash? Or just flashing tune?

As far as instruction or the PDF referenced by VF Tuner it has not been released yet, so you’ll need to contract Zendesk and get them on it to figure out protocol.

    Whats a CUW update?

I was flashing back to stock. I was on 1.7.5 (just updated to that before I flashed. pervious version was like 1.7.2~). I did the normal flash procedure as I've done many times.

Were you hooked up to a battery charger while flashing? Keeping voltage above 12.5?

any error messages pop up or just no start after flash finished?

Oh, yeah. Nope. I updated my truck many years ago to 04b04 and have flashed many tunes with that version. Then I tried flashing the stock "89663 04B04". It said succesfull, please turn off the truck and start it. And then here we are.

Voltage was like 12.6 or 7, just got home from work so it hasn't been sitting.

    Copy,

Other tuners I’m speaking to all agree that under new 1.7.5 it’s a Zendesk process now if a true brick.

And it appears yours is at this point.

Truly unfortunate he would take the force flash feature out. And now it's a 1-time access type thing. Now I'm just scared to try flashing back to my tune file down the road.

What are the odds I cant unbrick it? Then I'm out of luck and have to buy a new ECU?

I even tried installed an older version of the program that had the force flash feature, but when I select the tune/stock file it says unable to decode vft file or something similar. I'm assuming old version of his software have been rendered unusable...

Per the information we have the old one should work until the very end of the month. I haven't seen anything different. I was waiting til the last minute to change over to see how it goes.

I’ve copy this thread link and sent to VF Tuner to get you some exposure and assistance…hopefully not to long.

Ah, I shouldn't have updated! The old installer I have is for 1.6v.

I've emailed them so just waiting to hear back now.

    Appreciate that!!

Lucky I got a coworker I can bum a ride off to our meeting. If he doesn't get back to me today, not really expecting it. I'll have to ride my grom into work tomorrow in the 20degree temps LOL.
