The fact that ECU is in the engine bay where battery is, already a big uffff. Can’t wait for the new gen tho to see on junk yards totalled, I am sure that rear axle is plug and play for abs setup, can finally have OEM disk brakes :sawzall::welder:

    A 2023 DCSB OR is $50k before taxes, so that's about a $4k jump.

This is not going to help restore sanity to used 3rd gen prices...

Called dealer for LF fluid, $140 for 1L... any other alternatives or places to buy it cheaper (i.e. Ravenol?)

    Thanks! Pics on the truck!

2 years ago I managed to source from one of the US dealers through ebay. With buying 2 cans it came to ~$100/can with shipping in. Its expensive, but not terrible for once every 60-80k. Your taillight 'maintenance' budget far exceeds this in comparison.

Suprised the dealer even quoted a price. Wen I tried (Ancaster Toyota) the said nope, we can only order 40L drums for shop. Use diff oil instead, and their 'head' mechanic agreed.

    I used Redline Mt-LV which goes for about $31 a quart. https://www.redlineoil.com/mt-lv-70w75w
Also saw the Toyota LF fluid online at Canadian dealers in the $100 to $120 price range.

^I finally got sick of sweeping sand out of the divots in the stock tailgate panel with my broom head.

Genuine accessory LED strips available on the 4th under the tailgate to supplant shitty Amazon LED strips

4th gen turbo, but apparently you need to have the mic in the engine bay to hear it, as the cabin is well insulated.

EDIT: I was responding to Maverick's comment, not your post about transfer case fluid.

So MT-LV has been in fine with @ODSC1, @MaverickT883, and myself (Taco and 4Runner). I wonder if Naz accidentally put MT90 in @Norilsk's transfer case last time, causing slow shifts.

The manual trucks keep the 4.30 axle ratio, so you can get an upsized 9" axle with rear discs without having to regear.

Reverse on 4th gen MT looks improved, while the tall 3.58 axle ratio on AT is a letdown compared to 4.30 on the MT:

Interestingly, they kept the same T-case ratio.
