    Hello All!

I am new to the forum but not to Toyotas. I currently have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma Xtra cab. Unfortunately, however, the night before Thanksgiving a 10-point buck decided to run smack into my front quarter panel, taking out the headlight, part of the front bumper, and denting the driver's door and hood a bit.

Even though my insurance company just wrote it off as a total loss today, I am absolutely keeping it because even at 168,000 miles, it hasn't got a speck of rust on it. I found this forum just today, and I am here for the camaraderie and advice from others who may have faced a similar situation. I love my truck, and I am glad to see there are others who love theirs, too!

    Cheers!

    Christina (NiankhSekhmet)

Of my truck, yes. But I didn't get one of that buck. It was really dark, and I just wanted to get home. 20231123_132619.jpg 20231123_132621.jpg

Me, too. I know I will be looking for parts as soon as the insurance check arrives. ;)

Welcome to TW . I say is fixable, but I'll leave to experts here on TW.

Thanks! That's what I have been told. However, I really don't want to spend $8K that the collision center quoted. I think the biggest challenge is replacing that quarter panel above the wheel. I already have a line on a bumper.

Worked in a body shop for a while. The quarter panel shouldn’t be too difficult but it depends on what other support members got bent up behind. When you try to bolt on the new panel you may need to take a large persuasive tool (hammer) to knock any support back.

good luck. I have seen worse.

Yeah, my 2017 has been at the shop since 10/3 waiting for a frame and a WHOLE lot more due to a hit and run by a tractor trailer. Hope you do well.
