Not including destination charges, that bumps it up to 32-something. The 24 Frontier S King Cab Rwd starts at $29,770 before destination. Frontier also has 310, naturally aspirated hp and rear access doors. Which is less intial up front cost, and with a NA engine projected to last longer than forced induction.

S trim and up also has a new blue shade, that might be close to voodoo blue.

Thrill with out borders? Did Nissan chose that slogan because the Frontier is built in Mississippi?

That '23 will be worth its weight in gold when those new-fangled-turbo-whatchamacallits start blowing up.

Until the Gen 4 has been in production a good 4 years I'd keep that 2023.

Typically, new vehicles grow on you... I think I liked the Gen 4 more when it was first shown...

My '21 PRO is nifty enough so that I can happily wait for someone to make a EV truck that loves to crawl up hills...

I want simplicity. - Not more complexity. I don't want a turbo'd 4 cyl (Been there, done that several times. No thanks). The 4 cyl does not get any better performance. (Similar power, heavier vehicle...) AND I don't want to touch anything that is a Hybrid.

The reviews I've read point to a degradation in the Manual gearbox experience (I find this Odd...). And no Lunar Rock... - What would be the point?

I'll likely test drive for kicks... But it seems I'm sitting out on the Gen 4.

I had an '86 300 ZX turbo 5 speed I ran till 100k or so and never had an issue with the driveline. Nissans had turbos well before that, and twin turbo versions after. Along with the Toyota Supra. Mustang SVOs, Thunderbird Coupes, Buick GNs and GNXs, GM Syclone and Typhoon, all turbo rides. Rarely a problem with the engine or turbo system.

Most every dump truck on the road has a turbo.

Most smaller vehicles in other countries, including 3rd world, have turbos, especially if the terrain has any mountains requiring some humpf to get up.

Not sure where all the 'new fangled' turbo fear comes from. :notsure:

Plus 1500 for destination and plus 3200 for 4x4, gets expensive really quick!

was anyone else bothered but the fact that the interior shots was in an xtra cab and would show exterior shots of a double cab?

i didn't imagine i would be saying this but i am liking the extra cab. even if the side doors do not open, i would be OK with it provided the truck was more rigid.

i wish the engine bay were tidier, it looks a mess.

no way i would touch a 2024 or 2025 though. i think it'll be a sh!t show at least the first two years.

i look forward to seeing one in person...........

I would think framed vehicles rigidity is determined by the frame not what is attached to the frame.

The 4th gen will have more torque at a much earlier rpm which will favor acceleration which is quite typical with most forced induction engines. There is just no debating that, especially when comparing it to the 2GRs naturally aspirated lethargic torque curve with almost nothing until 4k rpm. Now assuming toyota elects to use high quality components the truck could be a hit but only time will tell.

I also own a 2 liter turbocharged manual accord that makes more torque at 1500 rpm than my v6 truck does at any rpm. It is a treat to drive. Put your foot down in any gear and it goes. Not to mention its more than a thousand pounds lighter than my truck. I really dont mind forced induction as long as the parts are quality. All the pandering that occurs about turbocharging being bad is quite immature as its just better and more efficient. It would be nice if the 3.5 in our trucks came with a turbo but then the truck becomes way more than it needs to be.

Was waiting for a ‘24 and when it came down to it, settled for a ‘23 Limited Nightshade, on which I now have put 550 miles and am quite satisfied with the decision.

I remember the first turbs I ever drove...Probe GT.....Eagle Talon...then my beloved 86 GS1150E Mr. Turbo motorcycle.....and of course every semi and dump truck I have ever driven...and I used to think....MAN EVERYTHING SHOULD HAVE A TURBO! LOL.

Now I don't want them on my daily drivers at all. No need IMO.

Maybe the 4th gen will grow on me but right now not so much. I don't like the longer wheelbase and the bodyline flaring at the wheel wells. Looks like a prime spot for rock chips.

Meh, I don't care for the Frontiers. The specs are an improvement though.

Yes! and do it in a hurry, ditch that old '23 PRO 6MT, it's obsolete. I'll take it off your hands for 20 grand right now.
