Happy Monday evening! It's chilly out there, the woodstove will be working overtime tonight.
I called them, the store manager was really good and willing to help anyway that he could. They're 2 hours away, so not exactly a quick trip. I looked at Falkens website to find a local dealer, and the NTB store in Reisterstown popped up. I called there and got informed that NTB is now owned by Mavis Tires and things are in a screwy state of confusion right now, so as of right now the store manager will still order non-stocked items. The store manager looked up the tires and gave me the price, which was exactly the same advertised price ( about $150/tire) so I gave a small deposit over the phone and he is going to order them. I'm going with the Falken Rubitrack in the 245/75/16 XL size, just keeping it stock. The TPMS sensors got ordered from Rockauto and fancy black lug nuts are on the way from the african river store.

Long trip for an Ikea run!

Nice! Those Rubitreks sound like great tires, I did a bunch of research on them a while ago and never saw a single bad review. Seems like a more road-friendly version of the Wildpeak.

I've never seen them in person and really not a lot of info on the interwebz about them, I only found one "review" and it was more along the lines of the youtuber giving a 8 minute infomercial. I hope that it was a good decision. The continuous center bar in the tread caught my attention, it's good for lower road noise. The tread looks aggressive enough to be useful on a loose dirt road, it's about all of the off-roading that the Taco will ever see as long as I own it. The triple peak snowflake rating may be useful this winter. :fingerscrossed: I had Hankook Dynapro AT/m's on the 4runner, they were surprisingly good all terrain tires. 10 days in Colorado didn't even hurt them, I just didn't care for how "greasy" they became after 40K miles so I wasn't using those again.

Did you see this thread on them?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/falken-rubitrek-a-t-tire.507377/

It’s funny you mention the Dynapro’s…I don’t think I’ve ever seen them before in person but today I walked past a truck that had them and I noticed they looked really good for a more mild all terrain.

I'm pretty sure I looked at rubitreks before because of the xl rating. Trying to figure out my camper situation first to see what tires I go with next. If I go slide in my have to go e rated or c at least. If I go withmore of a shell type a xl rating would be what I'm looking for.

Hey folks! Am back in MD. No traffic issues across 2800 miles. No back-ups or slow-downs. I saw one 6pt buck get walloped by a 1Ton dually, but my dash cam already recorded over it before I could get the memory card to my laptop. Probably 30-40 dead deer along the highways - didn't recall seeing so many on long drives.

New house saga continues as the septic is not yet repaired - Will still likely need a new drain/absorption/whatever field before we can set a closing date. The original date of 15 Dec is unreasonable to consider at this point.

Glad you made it back safe. I had never considered getting an aftermarket front bumper until I drive to Montana and back and saw all the deer carnage.
