You should just get it emission tested anyways. That way you can figure out if you have a tune or not.

Are the CVN's all the same for a given year and trim?

That certainly does not match what is coming up with my scanner.

That’s the CVN for a “true” stock 04C21 calibration. If yours is different, you may be on the stock file with VFT encryption, which reports differently than what I stated previously. Or you’re tuned.

    I am certainly OTT tuned
Just was curious as to what it should come up factory, I’m not in an emissions testing county. However, warranty, thoughts, and what not….

This is all very good info, on both sides of the warranty/emissions discussion.
Seems a fairly decent and respectful conversation based on some opinions and a surprising amount of what seems like proven good info.

As an OTT tuned Taco owner on my 2020 DCLB, I don't really worry about the emissions side of it as I'm in NE, and they don't test unless you are bringing in a vehicle to register you just purchased from out of state, and even then they don't seem to have adopted the harsher CA emissions laws.

Good points all around here but honestly the tune I have is SO good, I really can't ever see going back to stock, unless it's for a test or major warranty work which I don't anticipate (who does really).

I can say my wife and I love CO, got married there and generally love a lot about the state and what it has to offer, so if we ever moved there or elsewhere that has harsh emissions, I would guess by that time the tuners would hopefully have a work around for this.
As I stated IMHO, the OTT tune is so good, and makes such a huge difference in the way the truck operates that I can't see the tuners going out of business without finding a way around this issue.

Better hope the CA Gov does not move to DC in 2025 then we are all screwed! Florida has no inspections!

I would be okay with that. Been to both states and prefer Florida.

Had a buddy who lived in Daytona Beach, went there every year for SB....followed by the overlap of Bike Week.
No way I could ever live there.

Sorry for the OT, now back to your regularly scheduled tune talk.

For the record, this is kind of upsetting to see. I have been the opposite of quite and have been actively helping anyone with an issue. So have all the guys in OTT. The $500 100% doesn’t go directly to me either, in fact the majority doesn’t. I’m also retuning people to stock /back for free. We have been working a ton behind the scenes to get VF to fix the issue with encryption with the original stock file, which is now fixed. As an alternate option, we have provided instructions on where to find a cheap used ECU and how to install it, then program the correct VIN to the used ECU. All free.

And there are things in the works to never make this an issue in the future that the OTT guys have invested serious time and money into, though I can’t speak to details on that right now.

I have the OTT tune for awhile now and I wouldn't go back to stock. Justin's OTT tune is outstanding. My state doesn't test and I've never heard, or read, about anyone being denied warranty work because of a tune.

I agree about the OTT tuners being very active, and most definitely willing to work with you on any issues experienced, although my tune from Timber Ridge Tuning here in Omaha has to this point been flawless.

Update regarding having a tune and smog check (CA resident).
I have the ‘Sibi Tune’ on my truck, the LRA extended gas tank and an open element K&N intake (specifically says not CA legal per their website). I went to get my smog check today per DMV (truck’s first smog inspection since owning). It passed with flying colors. I was skeptical and slightly scared at first. But now I’m not going to worry until 2 years from now.
