The young adults coming in to the work force today need to experience some of this!

Back in the pantry, modded some of the old ductwork (14 x 8) into a new cold air return.

Daisy had to come and see if it was securely attached by climbing on it.

30 years sober for me, just walked away from it one day and never went back to it. All my so called friends went away because of that.

I somehow have been able to just drink a beer every now and then and rarely a scotch. I applaud you guys for sure but, and maybe I am lucky, alcohol never became a driving part of my life. So, I drink a beer and move on to tea!

Alcohol wasn't a driving part of my life. It was an escape from it. I was trying to drown my demons until I realized those fuckers knew how to swim.

I don't think it was a driving part of my life either. I was mostly a weekend beer drinker. I went through a divorce that I didn't see coming and I had a lot of important decisions to make. Rather than drowning my sorrows with alcohol I decided to stay sober so I could make good decissions and get through it. As time went on I noticed that I didn't miss it and just never went back to it. I was never an alcoholic or addicted to it but I can understand how hard that can be for some folks and I applaud those that fight that fight and beat it. I have lost many a friend to alcoholism. Coffee and iced tea are my thing now.

That is awesome my friend :hattip:

Almost 12 years for me, for those that don't know I was a full blown alcoholic for close to 15 years. I can't drink just one, or three, I have to drink 12 or 18+. When my wife got pregnant with our son I told her if he grows up to be an alcoholic he's not learning it from his dad like I did from mine so I was able to finally walk away from it. It was tough for the first month or two, now I don't care anything about it.

I don't care if people drink, my wife drinks a beer every now and then and there's some in my shop fridge she brought with us when we moved. I know I can't drink one though.

I applaud those who can drink and not get drunk :hattip:

With any addictive substance, genetics loads the gun and the environment pulls the trigger. I have siblings who are alcoholics who’ve lost jobs and almost their families due to drinking but alcohol hasn’t affected me like that. I might have a beer or two on the weekends but it’s something I can take or leave. I believe if I did start drinking to a certain level, I would be in the same boat.

Good morning everyone :hattip: I hope you have a nice day.

When we moved in I started hanging stuff in the shop wherever I could to get it out of the floor. I had deer heads hanging on poles and it was so cluttered. I'm trying to de-clutter some of it and move things around. I had an idea for the deer heads.

My brother would drink every now and then but he never struggled with it like I did.

I hate buying stuff off ebay simply because it takes a while to get it. It's the only place I could find what we needed for Cole's 1960's John Deere 110 though.

    Got it apart the 13th.

The gear stick would spin all the way around, it's bent so it was annoying. The housing was worn and the pin finally broke.

Found one for $10 plus shipping, got it yesterday. It looks like new.

Got it back together and he's riding again.
