Only on Tacoma World can Toyota give you everything you’ve bitched about not having for years and people still aren’t happy.

    Better low end torque? Check
    Rear discs? Check
    Better fuel economy? Check
    Better payload? Check
    Better interior? Check
Better tires on the OR? Check

Hey, I’m not saying I don’t want the new Tacoma, just want to let things settle in. I got my ‘23 for invoice as my son told me his dealership was probably a year out if I wanted any kind of a break.

    I wasn’t even in the market for a new truck. I had a 2020 Tacoma SR5 2WD with 20k Covid miles. Once I got a peek at the 2024s, I said ‘hell no!’ Sold my 2020 and got a 2023 MT 4x4 OR. Oh…and yes, I’m content.

Did anyone catch a count on the number of cup-holders? Any full size holders or just more?

I’m liking the Nissan influence but I’m thinking another direction. RB26DETT. Sure it’s got a turbo but proven bulletproof. And it still has 6 cylinders. I’ll ponder that before a 4th gen.

I'm not sure why people are so confused. Today is the day Toyota allowed automotive journalists to release their test drive and hands-on videos of the new Tacoma.

    No suicide doors :frusty:

It does look like the front gaps on the bed are gone on the 24, maybe a better seal using a topper.

The camera system is pretty impressive.

    ...stuff
I had an ‘06 Nissan Frontier 4x4 Nismo. It was a great truck, until it wasn’t. I got a cross contamination of transmission fluid and radiator fluid, making the dreaded Strawberry Milkshake. I had a transmission repair done at the dealer (long story) but they did not intend to tell me that I had the cross contamination. Their policy was literally to not tell me about it. I only found out when I asked why they were charging me for a radiator flush after a transmission job…

    I’ll never own another Nissan.

Hard to say if I like the new truck . I seen a post yesterday online somewhere on pricing 31k for a base sr . 41k for the trd off road 4x4 . The pricing is just outrageous guess I’ll be driving mine till it explodes than I’ll just buy used Hilux motor and drop it in . Screw inflation lol .

    Ranger Raptor, sorry TW
This topic and several in 4G sub are all the same. I mean I get it with internet forums, but still laughable.

-"OMG a 4 cylinder, I would never buy that in a truck" (despite more available torque at a usable RPM).

-"I'm gonna buy a Ford or Nissan you can still get a V6 (because I believe in no replacement for displacement)." -Guy A
"Pft, you better not buy that crap, Ford and Nissan are junk." -Guy B, who goes on to say he won't buy a new Toyota because he doesn't trust the reliability of the new engine (despite saying Ford and Nissan are junk?)

    - "OMG have you seen the price of the new Tacoma? It is the same price of a new Ranger and new Canyon, I'm not spending that kind of money. I bought (insert model/year) and only paid (made up number to justify his logic)!" -While completely forgetting inflation, segment pricing, etc.

I want a 2024. Still keeping the 2016 with less than 22,000 miles. Two tacos are better than one.

I like the new truck, but would wait a couple years. I keep my vehicles for at least 15 years so i don't have to worry for a long time so oh well.

The boxed frame....isn't that what caused the rotting out of previous gens? Doesn't salt and crap find its way in and eat it from the inside out?

Yes. But before it rots it should be strong all by itself. LOL.

God I hope that problem is resolved! I hate rust and I live in Ohio!

    I undercoat with fluidfilm.
