I wonder what the size difference is b/t and the 300 motors they throw in them.

The production quality is solid, and I usually like the snarky humor. It's a definite brand set up, and some people won't like it, but I watched that channel for years when I didn't even ride.

I take most "pushing brands" with a grain of salt. He actually has some good info to at least go along with.

Today I brought in my backpack:

    Laptop (bigger 15” one)
    Lunch in a glass container
    Coffee in a steel Thermos
    Gym clothes
    Climbing shoes
    Chalk bag
    Snacks and small electronics

My back and shoulders are wrecked already. On the bright side I can fully rev out the engine since I’m past break in miles so I finally hit 100 mph on the way to work this morning lol

Agreed. That's why I don't put a lot of stock in the gear reviews of Revzilla. They push their store brands really hard. It'd hold more weight if they did their top 5/10 lists and openly said they were excluding their gear so as to avoid a bias, but then provide a link to gear they felt stacks up. As it is, they are heavy handed about it. It makes me doubt Sedici products.

My thoughts.....any cheap stuff is probably made in the same factory. Quality just depends on the parent companies QC. I don't mind using cheap stuff, but I accept it for what it is and realize there's much better options :D

I've had some cheap stuff that has worked out weel enough that I didn't personally see a need to upgrade simply b/c I don't use it in the manner it's needed. Harsh conditions and all.....

Yeah I carry a lot and when I had the Versys I’d be able to just leave all my climbing stuff in a separate gym bag and leave that in one case and leave my rain gear in the other case and put my backpack with my lunch and laptop in the top box. Then at work I’d put my helmet and gloves into the top box and lock it.

BTW I’d definitely look at the smaller 300/400s. I’ve ridden the Ninha 300, MT03 and RC 390 and have been super impressed with how smooth and powerful they are. They’re nothing like a dirt bike 400 like your KLX. I was similarly put off by them because my DRZ was so bad on the highway but my mind was blown after trying the new stuff.

Sedici along with Bilt are carry over from the purchase of Cycle Gear. Chinese manufacture copies of better quality brands at a cheaper price but without the same level of quality. I'd say it's okay for a beginner and certainly better than nothing but don't expect full protection, warmth, or water resistance that you could get from the better name brands. I actually like the appearance of some of the Bilt and Sedici stuff but know enough by now to not fall for it.

I feel like Revzilla is just a drop shipper now except for their in house brands unfortunately. They still have good CS but since Cycle Gear is owned by the same company (Comoto) and has the same sales, I order from them now so I can do free returns or exchanges in person at the store.

Honestly it’s pretty vibey under 5k RPM and then just smooths out up till redline. Even at 100 it was very smooth, I just couldn’t tuck in all the way with my huge backpack and all the drag.

    Have you ever seen these?

    https://ventura-mca.com/collections/ktm/products/ktm-rc-390-22

Back when I first started working for a dealership the owner was a big fan and we carried a lot of this company's Triumph offerings. Not cheap but really nicely made

Most of my Bilt stuff has fallen apart very quickly. They are decent for loaner gear or for people who rarely ride. My wife has some Bilt stuff and while the helmet has some decent ratings (I think it’s Snell certified) it’s really loud.

That is very cool! However since I’m hoping this will only be temporary, I’m going to hold off buying luggage for the bike so I can keep it as my fun and track bike.

The impracticality is only one part of the issue. The wind protection and lighting and safety are the main concerns I have with commuting on it.
