    Ah.

You know, I have a friend who's currently developing a theory that not everything on the internet is true.

I might send this one to him.

I don't believe the official numbers have been released per se. They said the SR5 is 3" wider than the 3rd gen and the TRDOR and Pro are 6" wider, assuming I heard that correctly.

So 2 people? I'm asking for actual numbers. Looking at their forum I don't see anything glaring. For reference the 2nd gens had transmission shuddering issues that is well documented. I see random "my underbody camera washer is leaking" or my screen went black after an OTA update but I don't see 500 people complaining about it (Super White paint, 6 speed automatic transmission tuning with Tacoma).

Lot of people getting dead battery issues due to update pushes, digital dash and radio going blank while driving, dented roofs from the dryer at car washes, shuddering while driving. And they are suffering from parts delays so people are doing buybacks since they been sitting for 30+ days. Honestly this is what every manufacture goes through on a new release....with the exception of that roof getting dented.

Toyota has twice the build capacity as GM/Ford/Nissan, but judging by the pricing strategy, it’s pretty clear that TNGA-F development costs were not cheap during a recent historic period of inflation.

Tacoma buyer is gonna need to dig a lot deeper to add power seats this Christmas.

You don’t think that this redesigned Tacoma is going to have some issues? Every new vehicle has problems. Always have always will.

For me, being that I like stuff as basic as possible:
TRD O/R DCSB Auto with the standard rear locker,
    No sunroof,
    No leather,
    No premium package,
Smaller screen like the one pictured in this video at 12:03 (the larger screen is too much "screen" for my taste).
I welcome the better seating position,
Slightly wider interior & 1" more of rear legroom is nice,
7% more volume in the bed is nice as well,
I don't like hybrids. The non-hybrid is more powerful & makes its torque down low much better than the 3rd AND 2nd gen V6's do.
That's pretty much it. Oh, & silver of course.

Side note, I know Toyota hybrids are top notch but I just don't like the random engine turning on and off when it wants to. Speaking of which, will these have the auto start/stop feature? Sorry if I missed that info. If so then that will be one of the 1st disable-feature mods I will search for. I truly cannot stand that feature. HAHAHA

I agree, I usually don't buy into this because I know the advantages and disadvantages of the 2 classes...but some of these new price structures and lack of efficiency advantage do make it hard to argue that a full size would be a better place to put your money.

The Tundra has stop start, and almost every other new vehicle, I can't see why the 4th gen tacoma will not have it as well. Disable that and take of the spoiler and the MPG's might be worse than the 3rd gen...lol

The US trucks have it on the ICE engines. It is built in(no button) on the hybrids.

If price is all that matters... '23 Colorado is only $250 less, a '24 equally configured would be more. The point is, pricing is inline with the competition.

Know the Pro has wider offset wheels, but wonder if the 3” wider is track or are they referring the body?

No you don’t, but I have a 5X8 trailer, so it is like having a full-size truck bed without having to own one of today’s monster sized fulls trucks. Though after test driving a new Tundra didn’t see all that much bigger than my Tacoma from the inside.

Yeah the cost factor is getting slimmer and slimmer. The base SR Tundra has some nice power and capabilities numbers. My thought is waiting a year, and you might be able to score one cheaper than a Taco, and have bit more truck for less.

Even though the SR is detuned, it still makes 405 ft/lbs, 8000 lbs towing and 1800lbs payload. Interior space is real close to a DC Tacoma. My only gripe is that you can’t get the 36 gallon tank, however my 21 gallon (more like 18) in my current truck works fine for me.

Yeah that is what I assumed, the flares on the TH/Pro look fairly wide. The SR/SR5 look better to me. Still can’t tell if they are pressed into the sheet metal or are a plastic overlay.
