Official number on the Super T is 575, but I know that some companies play games with that. I also know that changing the exhaust with a slip on can shave a fair bit of weight. Though, bars and a skid will add more than is saved. The weight would make winds and such much less of an issue. Everything I read/watch on the ST is that it feels planted and unflappable when running down the highway. Definitely a benefit to the weight it has.

The ZX4-RR right? I was looking at those during my search for a track bike. then saw the price and discounted it. If I'm gonna be paying those prices I'll just get a used R6.

My BMW is 440 or so.
    YZ250F is about 250.

I don't really notice my BMW's weight until I switch to the YZ, then I realize what a manatee it is comparatively. But I'm more stable on the BMW because the YZ has a much higher seat and softer suspension, and I'm not that tall. Though that might also be due to riding time....my dirt experience is sorely lacking compared to street.

This is my "problem" with potentially riding the XT225 as my around town go getter, the newer modern small parallel twins are quiet, refined, SMOOTH.... and fuel injected. I did just buy some bits n bobs for it though (handguards, small rear blinkers... a battery lol). Still need to figure out some street oriented tires for it though.

I have NEVER EVER been more impressed with the lack of felt weight as I have when i rode a DCT Goldwing FB6. The super tenere feels light really quick... the goldwing, just BONKERS at how light it felt once it was moving above like 3 mph, this was back in 2016 or 2017 when I got a solid demo ride on that goldwing, I had N E V E R ridden anything remotely close to the weight of that bike.

I got on it and went, WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F#@$, its SO comfy, everything perfectly placed. It was insanely flickable, acceleration AND braking were absurd good... and talk about stealth smooth. If I was doing lots of LOONG distance rides it would be a hard choice between the FJR and the Goldwing

I didn't think winter gas had anything to do with ethanol? I thought it was a butane-adjusted thing?

I run ethanol free in my bikes, but don't in my 4R. It's about a dollar more a gallon here, not worth it on the 4R at all.

You are correct that ethanol has nothing to do with winter gas, but crappy winter gas with ethanol will be even worse.

I run ethanol free for everything, even if it's not saving money. I do it because I hate the lie that ethanol represents and because of the way ethanol pulls moisture from the air. The better MPGs is just a bonus.

I looked hard for one! Turns out bikes in the middle of Illinois are just as expensive.

Winter gas is a different formulation but around here retains the ethanol.

The FJR1300 is listed at 642 lbs and it does carry a lot of that weight fairly high. Once in motion though it loses weight pretty quickly.
My Buell listed at 450 lbs but I've shave some off that with carbon fiber and aluminum pieces so it's probably around 435 lbs now
Honda CB400F Super Sport was listed as 392 lbs but that kind of surprises me as I don't think it feels that heavy even. I must just be used to bigger bikes.

+1 to that, ethanol in fuel is such a joke. What id give to be able to buy ethanol free gas easily without getting ROYALLY bent over..... fuggin california. The only good thing this state has where im at is weather and family... everything else is a gdamn joke.

That stated, years ago once I started dosing everything with startron enzyme treatment that wasnt constantly used fuel injected vehicles (truck and super tenere), I have had zero ethanol related problems with gas. Anything anything carbureted that sits for more than a week gets its carb drained completely of fuel and cranked over vigorously to pull air through all the various passages to dry everything out completely.

The rest of the chassis is basically 600 spec vs the Ninja 400, hence the price. The suspension, brakes, etc are all vastly superior to the 400.

Also 600s nowadays are basically $12-14k out the door so you’re still getting a discount off of those. My only gripe is having to get a tune to unlock the ECU to get the full 72 hp that the rest of the world gets.

i get that its very different but at the end of the day its a 400cc yes its a 4clyinder and not a parallel twin... but still a bit more and you get a larger bike. thats my only thing to say its not worth it tbh now if someone thinks it is then more power to em.

most 600s are around the 11-12k market out here i havent seen one hit 14k yet. didnt know that about the ecu thats rather annoying

$11-12k MSRP is about $14k OTD.

Went out there to visit my wife’s family for thanksgiving. Towed this thing the whole time camping along the way.
