Toyota extended warranty plan purchase

I went in today & cancelled my 8 yr 75k warranty 6 weeks after buying my truck. I expected a huge push back but the manager couldn't have been nicer. All I paid was a $50 cancel fee. The money for the warranty will be subtracted from loan principal. 4-6 weeks. I have paperwork. Make sure you ask for proof of cancellation.

 

I will be making the call in a few days when the vehicle is in my hands…..

 

Took the plunge yesterday and purchased the zero deductible 100,000 mile warranty from Jerry at Mid West Toyota. Probably the easiest purchase I have made from a dealership in a long time. Hopefully it’s all it’s claimed to be. What finally convinced me to purchase is that coolant pipe fiasco that Toyota should make as a recall.

 

This is undoubtedly very helpful to many folks...It certainly gives someone intell when sitting down and closing your deal. Great contact!

I'm probably buying a 23 Pro - supposedly arriving this week or next.

However I drive so much the warranty is tough for me...I have put almost 250K on my 2019 Tacoma - I'd hit the 120 mark at year 2.

 

I agree, dont buy the warranty with that amount of driving. You accumulate quick and get out. You drive a lot, damn.

 

Glad I found this tread, I have 13 months left on the factory warranty, still under 10K miles.
Looks like Jerry will be getting $$ from me for 10y/100K plan.
Plastic crossover pipe is my biggest fear on this truck. And the amount of electronics and sensors.

 

has anyone used this for any major issues. ive never really had any major issues with any of my yotas but just curious if this would have even been worth it for future reference

 

$1700 for a coolant bypass will pay for the warranty.

PS I had the Toyota platinum warranty on my 2005 Taco. It paid to replace, reinforce and paint the collapsed tailgate (I was out of 3/36 factory warranty for the TSB).

 

some have including me. it's up to you but the issues with the 3.5 are not cheap. i am glad i had it to replace the coolant pipe. i was 7 years 10 months into my 8 year extended warranty, first and only time i needed it.

 

Question, what if you already refinanced wants from away from Toyota Finance

Depends on what warranty you already have. Did you buy a factory Toyota warranty or did you buy an aftermarket? Everyone here is referencing the Toyota factory platinum extended warranty

Yes, you can. I was a second owner of my 2005, the original owner trasferred his platinum warranty to me. I ended up using too, so I know it works.

If you get it you will get a Toyota booklet and in it will be all your info pertaining to your truck.
check all the info like the VIN to make sure all is correct. one time i got one and the VIN was not mine and it took a while to get it corrected. FYI

 

Just purchased one from Jerry last week. Awesome person and easy to work with. Should be getting my book in a few weeks.

 

my parents purchased an extended warranty for their new rav4 from jerry. nothing but positives to say about him. im purchasing one for my tacoma tomorrow (7yr/125k) when hes back in the office. finance manager at the dealership i bought from said his prices were unreal, and that he was going to buy one from him. cheers guys.

 

Can a warranty still be purchased after buying your truck? Bought in Oct 2023, If yes from where? what are my options? Thanks
