I didn’t take any photos but the worst areas seem to be the cross members by the spare tire and front and rear bumpers. Even the floor is starting to rust around the screw holes near the spare tire. It’s tough to even spray a lot of the frame since the fuel tank blocks a huge portion of it. It sucks. The rust is worse than my Tacoma that’s three years older.

Well, had my final consult with surgeon today, signed consent forms, blah blah.
But, unfortunately, won't get on the schedule until after the new year(hopefully early).
Pretty much confirmed today my career trajectory, is changing.
Now, the trick is not doing any more damage between now, and then...

Anyway... guess I have some time to bang out a few projects around here.

looking forward to a spring report. I saw somewhere that the surface shield is supposed to “remove” the rust. I look forward to real world results.

    Context?

It'll slow the casual snatch. But, nothing can stop someone if they're determined enough

    The
Basic small security torx do okay, but, I think most that are willing to steal one, will be prepared for that.
There IS a 2 piece style of security bolt, though I don't recall the name offhand.

I would say it's worth a try. As Chasespeed said, a really determined thief is going to take it and not care how much damager they do to the truck. OTOH, the casual thief of opportunity is just going to move on to the next opportunity.

Speaking of security has anyone ever tripped the alarm that comes standard with the 3rd gens?

Oooooof. So the commission rate for this holiday show is 40% - whatever, that's the price of admission for nonmembers, I get it.

Having reviewed the terms of membership, the commission rate is even higher (after passing through a jury no less) and they have an exclusivity clause, and there aren't any member benefits other than shelf space - no workshops, co-op facilities, networking events, nothing.

I'm gonna let stuff move through the end of the show but I don't see a bright future with this gallery.

Where? Or is that some sort of NDA thing as well?

GF likes to shop at N Conway/Littleton a bit. Always interesting to learn new dynamics

I hate vehicle shopping. I've almost gotten to the point where I just want to run my truck into the ground.

I've always paid invoice for an F-150. Getting a dealer to do that with a reasonable trade number is like pulling teeth for some reason. It was no issue the last two times around. I'm going back and forth with a dealer now and while they aren't wildly off, it's enough where I won't do it. I pulled the window stickers of many other trucks on their lot and most of them were built 9+ months ago so they clearly aren't flying off the lot to justify higher prices.

Ford seems to be the worst offender. Seem to see posts on socials about crazy markups the most about Broncos, Raptors, etc
