Jeezuz. So that’s what happens to all the 2nd Gen tacos! I thought their frames just rusted off.

So will it be the 4 banger doing the disrespecting or the new 8 speed just outperforming the shit auto tranny in our 3rd gens? Either way I’m looking forward to seeing what comes.

So.....how will this turbo work on the top 2 trims for '24 (Trailhunter & Pro)? You have to rev up the engine more to get what you are getting from a V6 engine for towing, trailing, off road, etc? I get that the hybrid trims are gonna have more hp than the V6 but is it really worth it? Sorry, just not a turbo fan on any truck.

Almost everything is speculation right now. Engines seem to have proved reliable in non-trucks, but until people abuse them in real life like they abuse the current V6 all is speculation.

Just not sure why Toyota went this route on the Tacos and even more so to a smaller V6 w/twin turbos on the Tundra. I guess we'll just have to see what happens moving forward.

BWM stopped using the I6 in a bunch of applications and instead moved to a T4; they're no where near as reliable.

They got the same power out of a smaller engine [volume] to comply with the new government regulations.
Toyota has to appease the same master.

The N52 [I6] is a great engine, love that thing.
Put 225K on the M52 predecessor I had; got 102K on the N52 I have now.

Hell I had an older tundra with a v8 get away from me the other day.
So my answer is… it won’t happen.

I know what you are saying. I think they aren’t such a great looking truck though.

Agreed. The more I really look at the dash and imagine using it on the daily, the more I hate it. At first I just hated the asthetic. Now I hate the weird busybox wall of buttons.

I guarantee they're crawling these forums, every single one of the 3rd Gen complaints got addressed. I also noticed the cute positioning of the phone charger, the locking rear seat cubbies, and the molle panels everywhere.

... Somehow it's still wrong.
