S4+ECT in town and S5 or S6 on the highway. Shifts much better.

Yep, sounds like the 2024 hybrid with ~330hp is more your alley.

I also question if the truck was test driven before purchase.

Did you add bigger tires and some heavy accessories? That would explain the reduced performance and gas mileage.

Winter gas is probably contributing to your issues. A tune and or a pedal commander will help. These trucks are tuned for gas mileage so they shift early.

Is it any better in manual mode or shoot some high test gas through it for a couple tanks.

Buddy, you're posting emotions and nebulous complaints. Of course you're going to get BS. It's what we do best.

I really don't know how to help you. The engine was designed to rev high, not lug low like your Nissan. So rev it high.

Not helpful when wanna be comedians chime in with nonsense. That is so childish and unnecessary. Hell, at my extended age I don’t need nonsense.
I will look for a tune. Drive different and seek real time performance upgrades.

Just because you don't like the answer doesn't make it childish.

My truck is tuned. I like it because it makes the shift and throttle responses more predictable. It does not add torque in the low rpms however.

The real answer is the one that the comedians are screaming and is the one you don't like. Jump on the pedal. The power is in the high rpm range.

Tunes are great, and I enjoy my tune. But also, know where the engine is laying it's best power.

If it’s as bad as you say, and noticeably worse than when you bought it, then the simple solution is that it’s on warranty, so have your dealer run diagnostics.
    Good luck.

Test drove my Tacoma. Was pleased with performance that particular day. Since, performance and mileage have dismissed. NO, do not require affirmation! My requirements reside within clear and concise input. Not comedic BS.
