I ran into the same thing when I looked for a truck. 4x4s are tough to find in SoCal, took me about 6 months before I found one I was happy with. I've been thinking about getting a 2nd gen and would consider parting with my 01 DC for the right price. It's not exactly what you are looking for though. 140k and got some body damage :D, runs good and nicely modded though.

First of all you made a wise choice switching to a Tacoma. Second don't look for your truck let it find you. that's the way to go.

the wait, the searching, the endless disappointments are alllll over!!!!

    http://gallery.me.com/adamo.vitiello#100039

Any tips would be appreciated!!! I want a pusher bar in the front, or maybe different bumpers, nothing too crazy, definitely tubular, strong, nothing like the westin bully bars, eesh... not a fan and seem useless... tube side steps are a must, I want to lower the rear, (ill be putting my R6 in the back) or maybe put on a nicer suspension, (i have a base model 4x4)... maybe a stock TRD setup? then lower the rear, to at least level, or lower?

oh yeah, headlights, I hate mine, love the tails, LED, nice... but the hl suck, i want flat black housings, HID, projector, are there any good aftermarket alternatives that arent totally crap? and if I keep my bumper, Id like some fogs, but thinking it might be a waste? thoughts? I love the black on the pyrite, so not wanting to paint it...

what bedliner spray can I get to make the slick bed less so...???

sooo many things I want to do!!! ahhhh excitement and anticipation is killer

Search around, I have seen a ton of threads on projection headlights. Get a bed mat (made of rubber) to make the bed less slick.

Just bought a 03 dbl cab trd with 27,000 mi. Drove 2 hours 2 buy but it sure was worth it. Thing is mint. Poor retired guy had to go to assisted living. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the condition. Showed it to my friend that's a Master Tech at Toyota. He couldn't believe his eyes. Best thing about the deal was they gave me top dollar for my 01 reg cab taco with 200,000 mi. I test drove many tacos this week and most were beat to death and 1 that was in good shape was sold before I even got to the dealer.
