yeah that's why we are avoiding ours unless we absolutely have to, and the place we go to is run really well...they frequently require documentation that your pup has had the latest shots and what not. But no shot is able to prevent this one that is spreading around and dogs are like 3 year old toddlers, they share and ingest germs without a care in the world. Hard to prevent/contain that no matter how clean or well run the facility is.

After two months of chemo Abigail has went from two tumors in her lungs to 4 or 5. The vet wanted to try a new drug gilvetmat to go after the tumors on her right front leg. Being on Palladia is around $2000 a month when you add in the exams and radiographs. After being told this would be an additional $4000 a month I decided against more treatment cause there are no guarantees. Hard to justify $6000 a month when Abigail is already 9 1/2 years old and has multiple tumors in her body. I was tore up about saying no to the oncologist. But she completely understood. Fuck Cancer!!!

I totally understand the pain. We had to put down our 2 year old spaniel due to a liver shunt. We spent about $10k before being told she would need approx $28k I surgeries and expensive meds the rest of her life along with frequent draining of her abdomen which was extremely painful for her.

So sorry you and Abigail are going through this. Every day is a blessing with these critters. Hopeful for great days for you guys together!

My oldest dog has multiple tumors but he's going to be 18 soon. I just can't put him through that.

He's mobile. Happy and a snack fiend, I'm just going to spoil him as much as possible for what time is left.

Better than putting him through the stress of all the vet visits. If he could understand why then maybe but to him it's just a ruined day going to the vet.

    Yeah.
Any ingredient that ends with "itol" gives me abdominal cramps and the greasy shits almost immediately. Lots of "sugarless" products have one form or another. I understand your situation requires it, but I personally don't think it should be allowed in any foods unless clearly and prominently labeled. The fact that it is deadly to dogs should say something.

I for one stay away from any products like soda that are artificially sweetened. Those give me a weird "buzz"

Having lost both our dogs over the last couple of years and months, I feel for you. We miss them both daily.

We have gotten rid of a lot of stuff and settled on a mix of monkfruit and cane sugar, and really only for baked goods. Diet soda is what I'm trying to quit, working in tea and coffee, unsweetened of course.

I'm with you on the chemicals and wish we had better solutions to some of these issues.

The crazy part is we'd be better off just going back to sugar (the raw stuff).
