I have Arctic Armor that I bought maybe 10-15 years ago and have always been happy with. I haven't used them in a few years due to a late life horizontal growth spurt, but I'd buy it again if I got into ice fishing again.

Just dawned on me, and the excitement is immense... I got the splash panel installed and THAT means I can get my backup camera installed again. I miss that stupid thing!

Back when we got Mary's Rav4 the dealership tried selling us the extended service plan. He wouldn't take no for an answer.
He ask, " what are going to do if the backup camera goes out?"
Mary said, " look over my shoulder."

    Thanks, birthday boy!

Apparently Arctic Armor doesn't have much of a web presence... A search on Amazon brings up swimming pool covers. I found an ancient looking site that seems to maybe be a parent company or maybe just a distributor and everything is discounted to $99.99, some of it only in weird sizes. https://www.idigear.com/ To me it looks like they may be clearing out their inventory or something. Still looking at my options, but it looks like I could get a pretty cheap suit from them.

And I know it's your birthday and all, but it's not a "late life horizontal growth spurt." It's a mid-life horizontal growth spurt. Unless you're dying. Oh shit, you're not dying, are you James?

I wonder if they're still around. They were made by Clam. Let me see if I can find it.

I just meant late for a growth spurt.

I don't plan on dying until I'm 100. My 30 year old wife will be devastated.

Tried out the block heater the last two nights. I got about 2 blocks from the house and the temp gauge was already off of cold. Good bit of bad financial planning.

Too bad you won’t meet her till you’re in your 80s!
Hell, her parents haven’t been born yet!

Nice, thanks for the link. I was already kinda leaning toward Striker, and when I spotted this half off deal on their own website I pulled the trigger on the coat: https://strikerbrands.com/collections/mens-ice-fishing-suits/products/climate-jacket-redblack

Now I'm just deciding if I'll get the matching bibs (not on sale) or do a mix and match suit. I forgot about Scheels. Sherper's doesn't seem to have any float suits.

For Carhartt money, I'd much rather have a float suit. Carhartt is great work gear, but they don't have the technology that some of these other more specialized companies have.

Growing up around ice my whole life, if you need a "float" suit you shouldn't be on that ice!
