I didn't think Dirty South allowed trucks anymore but they do! It's huge and bad azz! Abviously I don't have the video on my phone a friend is going to send it to me to share.

Need some opinions here for the night. We got it out. No hydrolock runs great. Water was above our kees in the cab. Took a good 10-15 minutes to pull it out.

We are staying here tonight, it's 80% humidity outside 30% chance of rain.

Should I leave it closed up, leave windows down and cross fingers or let it idle all night with heat and AC on full blast?

Head lights work, dash cluster works, brake lights are constant on if truck is running.
Any ideas on brake light issue to get it home?

All in all great time! Awesome park you can pretty much see water line here

How would you run heat and AC at the same time?

Either way, that humidity is still getting in if the windows are down.

I wouldn’t leave it running all night, especially if you might have done any engine damage. The interior is trashed for now. Any real clean up will occur once you get home.

The pile-foam underpad under the carpet will never dry out and is basically trash. My suggestion if you have tools:
    Remove seats
Remove center console and other plastic trim
Remove carpet and throw in bed - it can be washed when you get home and hung dry.
Remove underpad and throw in bed - it goes in the trash when you get home.
Reinstall seats, center console and other plastic trim onto the bare metal floors so you can drive home.

One guy in my off-road club got swamped and we pulled his interior at camp:

Brake light issue may be waterlogged switch above the brake pedal.

Your engine air filter is probably covered in mud and should be replaced.

Install some waterproof insulation under the carpet when you get home, like Noico or Dynamat.

Your starter is on borrowed time and will probably need replacement inside of a month.

    Easy.
Turn on Fan, push the A/C Button.
Turn heat control knob up to full heat.

Setting the control switch to any defrost mode will run A/C.
Doesn't matter it the A/C button is pushed or not. The BCM will turn the A/C on to draw the moisture out of the truck.

Disconnect all your ECM connector and spray electrical cleaner in there and make sure they’re dry. Leave a space heater with the windows open or dehumidifier in the truck overnight with the interior removed.

On the drivers side kick panel are a bunch of connections.
I'd at least unplug them and try to get any water out that are in those connections.
Water intrusion doesn't usually show up for a few weeks to a few months later. The sooner you get the water off of/ out of the connections the better.

Pulled up as much carpet as we could and wedged wood under the pads with some blowing under pads dried more than I thought. Drove it friends house about 20 miles away this morning. Only error codes I got were something about an automatic transmission solonoid. borrowing the garage to do some more drying them hopefully get it the couple hundred miles home

One issue is the REAR BRAKE lights stay on anytime the truck is started. Any quick thoughts on where to start to track down that issue?

    Hind sight is 20/20.
I went from bad to worse when you "backed up".

I've been there. So I know how it feels.

Thanks, I'll check brake switch, I have extra starters at the shop, good idea! I have dynamat, I use it for the roof and back wall, I never did the floor because I thought if I sunk it there would be no way to dry up the water under the dynamat on the floor?

Speaking of starters?? This morning I turn the key and CLICK, that's it, like dead battery. Anyone ever have a starter totally lockup like that?

The quickest way of dehumidifying is running the heater and A/c at full blast. The heater will obviously create heat to dry, although the A/c won't blow cold air, when the A/c is set on recirculate it WILL still pull massive amounts of moisture put of the air

It's an old school, trick :)

Example, last night with my windows up, completely soaked inside, with heater on full blast and a/c on full blast it was drying out the truck. Doors closed, windows up, no moisture on the glass.

As soon as you turn the A/c off, the windows start fogging up

Try it, trust me it helps in a pinch, like yesterday.

    X2 :)

Wasn't the first time I made mistakes like that and good buddy I wish I could say it was the last time... But I well know better than that! Lol!

It's all part of the fun.

The funny thing is, my cousin in the white Jeep, this was her first time taking it off road. She was so worried she would break something or ding it up, etc... Joking with her, I told her before we left the house, "if you don't end up breaking something, then you didn't have a good time!" Lol

I did have my 15 minutes of Tacoma fame. Apparently the story of the Tacoma that got sunk spread across the park like wild fire. So literally every trail we went on someone would stop and be like is that the Tacoma that sunk? Same story, Everytime, they were like wow it's still running everyone's been saying it was a total loss, lol!

I think we may have gained some new Tacoma fans out there

Quick update, next day it wouldn't start had to bang the starter and jump using a big diesel truck to poo it over. Drove her 218 miles home to my shop. Kept getting a P0705 Code on charge and was running super high RPM's in 'D'. Pulled over at an exit, put it in L and launched it manually shifting up and it quit throwing the code. Pulled the interior it's dried out, guess I'll do yet another how-to on cleaning your OEM seat covers. Sub amp is toast, mid amp is toast highs amp is toast, active x-over is toast. Had extra amps at the shop, no x-over though . changed the starter. All in all, pretty damn fun trip! Going back soon!

Oh, I also had to pull out the speaker box, I'll measure it and post specs on how we got over 3cu behind the seat of a Tacoma
