They are 3 of my 5 GM owners so. I mostly work on Japanese vehicles.

There are 209,000+ 2022+ Tundras that were sold. You'll hear the issues, of course. But real world haven't seen or heard from anyone who has one.

Those in this forum complaining about pricing or features of the Tacoma are the minority. The Tacoma has been the best selling mid-sized truck for many years so clearly they know what sells. What I find hard to believe is there is a large enough demographic of people that likes CHROME which Toyota caters to. Just saw the video of the '24 Limited. The chrome door handles look like they came straight off the sale table at Auto Zone. People pay extra for that?

I find it just a s hard to beleive that people hate chrome so bad they have to swap ac control knobs out to get rid of a tiny chrome ring

But the limiteds have too much chrome thats for sure

Uh...reliability has not been a strong suit of the new Tundra. There have been plenty of blown motors after only two years of production plus turbo issues. The The Toyota reliability advantage has greatly diminished.

Toyota making money off the chrome demo. Kinda brilliant.

Watching the videos on this new truck are intriguing for sure. It actually makes me want a white one.... The problem is that I'm happy with my 2020, id probably be in the market for an extra cab again, and I would be purchasing the "de-tuned" model ... It makes me say.......ehhhh... Wait another 4 years and see what shakes out.... I waited 4 years on the 3rd gen and that proved to be a pretty good decision.
I would like to switch up before 120k, but my current rig is setup perfect, gets used as a multi tool, gets good MPG, and I'm comfortable in it.... It's hard to switch up after only 4 years and reset my payment. I only owe a handful of bucks on my current truck...

The videos folks are posting are great and they all entice me to say ....eff it!!!! Get yourself a new one.

I saw an article a few weeks back tallying the turbo waste-gate issue. Less than 100 Tundras out of the 100k produced have reported in for the recall. No recall I have been seen for the motor issue.

And then of course that automatically means to some ignorant people here that the new Tacoma will have waste-gate issues. You know because of turbo panic

Hey it’s only the second ever vehicle to use a turbo, so the hesitation is understandable. Who wants to be an early adopter of cutting edge engine tech?

Wait a minute, you mean they don't put the same waste gate on every turbo vehicle in existence? What about all of those Porsche turbos, and those Subaru turbos, and those Volvo turbos, and those Chevy, Ford, and Dodge diesel turbos, and those turbos they put into semi trucks, and those turbos they put into mass transit vehicles, and those turbos they put into heavy construction earth movers, and those turbos they put into farm equipment, and those turbos they put into military vehicles. Surely those all have issues too right? When will we learn from our mistakes and stop making turbos.

    Even if it is plastic...

I have some chrome bars on my BMX bike still ... They are chromolly .... I don't hate chrome... However I dislike plastic fake chrome ... At this point it really has no place on modern vehicles unless they want to chrome plate some stuff under the hood.

Real chrome is pretty expensive and it is unfriendly to the environment.
