5th gen 4Runner is the last 4Runner Toyota is going to produce. LandCruiser takes it's place, if you have been paying attention Toyota has no plans for a nonhybrid BOF SUV for the US & Canada.

I'm not placing any bets, it makes no difference to me one way or the other. I just can't see Toyota selling two midsize BOF SUV that would share the same frame and wheel base, not when one of them already comes standard with the higher output engine. GX has the 3.4tt only, because the LX 600 gets the tt hybrid. The closest thing to a 6G 4R, is going to be that LC EV unibody SUV.

He also said, before the 2024 4Runner came out, that the 2023 was the last ever 4Runner model year. So yeh, bet him. :p

That would be the 5th gen when ever Toyota gives it the axe. Toyota is calling the LC 250 a 24, when it won't be available until late 24 more like a 25 model year.

lol...Consumer Reports...lol But most likely I bet it's due to slow charging. Which I get. And probably build issues and software. But overall EV's mechanically are more reliable than ICE. The crap around them needs work. The BEV market is still in it's infancy stage.

I watch a lot of reviews on new EVs, and many of them are stopgap projects jammed into old architecture instead of clean-sheet EV designs. Part of the problem seems to be the growing pains associated with having one foot in the door and one foot out. It’s strange because EVs are so simple compared to ICEs, but then we’re adding back in trash screen interfaces and lots of odd bits and pieces that aren’t field tested. It’s going to be a period of much mediocrity, I think.

Absolutely. People are complaining about Toyota's late showing to BEVs but they are logically just waiting and would rather deliver a quality product instead of a rushed one like the BZ4x just to appease the market.

Yep, they are sitting back and watching seeing how it plays out. They already gave us a sneak peak of their arsenal. Pretty much blows what Tesla and Rivian has available model wise out of the water.

By a sneak peak of their arsenal, do you mean a theoretical rendering of how their potential EV models could look? Because that's what you just posted, a fictional video game image basically. Toyota is late AF to get the BEV memo which is why their CEO got ousted...

Toyota was too busy wasting money on Hydrogen....

Those are actual rolling concept vehicles shown in person by Toyoda-San himself.
