I watched a video today where the guy had a 3rd Gen to compare with the 4th. He put the drivers seats where it was comfortable and then got in back, said no difference between 3rd and 4th.

Tundras are already sitting on lots with discounts in some areas, I saw a pic someone posted the other day on a lot with what looked like 20 or more of em,

The question would be is that from customers rejecting the pricing or the present perceived questionable reliability. If it is from pricing, we could see the same thing happen to the Tacoma after the new wears off.

As I stated last night, there are 209,000+ Tundras sold (2022+). You’ll hear about the blown engines but you won’t hear the people happy with their with no issues. Just like with the 3.0l engine early, same with all the frame issues, Toyota will take care of their customers.

I think its more pricing coupled with reliability. For me thats whats pushed me to look other brands. I can get a new Raptor for $80k why would I pay $74k for a loaded Limited or Platinum Tundra, especially with the issues we've seen. Unfortunately its not apples to apples with Tacoma, Tacoma has always been percieved as the reliable, do anything, cool mid size segment leader and pricing dictates that, its never been massively discounted like even Tundras before were. All new highly anticipated gen with a cult following, it will sell no problem with no discount till at least inventory builds up.

Four of them in our local Toyota lot. Some 4Runners too. No Tacomas; no Rav4s; no Prius's, etc. Word is out that Tundra has issues and its styling is terrible to boot.

This, found a dealer 200 miles from me with a clean 2021 LR PRO Tundra low miles, just arrived on trade, they called me back next day it was already sold.

Not much of a selection in SETF region, mostly overpriced SR5s and Platinums / 1794s. But they are discounted about $2-4k.

My dealer has 3...I would say it has something to do with interest rates and the economy

My stellar credit with $48k down on an $80k truck with only a mortgage yielded me 6%@60 months, and I walked, agree there's too much unknown and stupid rates and prices. Interesting to see how each dealer is reacting, I had one in KY who could care less and didnt even make a decent come back offer, ones around here have been thirsty and incessant.

They’ll take care of you by giving you a loaner Corolla for 3 months while they try to fix your truck. Hopefully the engine didn’t blow while on vacation, on the way to a kids championship game or a job interview.

This, I'm a member on the more active Tundra forums, this is not as rare as people here are making it and many are without their trucks for months. Lots of people pursuing buybacks in the facebook group right now.

That is a cool resource. But comparing prices by inflation doesn't tell the whole story. Most people's salaries have not increased with the pace of inflation, so they have less purchasing power than they did in 2016. Plus, the markups for the "upgrade" and "premium" packages will increase prices further for most buyers.

That's not really a toyota problem if your employer won't pay more .

all good and dandy but where do you leave the salaries increases , not even counting the excessive amount the dealers are marking up these vehicles and the amount charged on the packages!

I sure hope that economy keeps resilient during these times and not see the Tacoma go the same route than the FJ went!
