You’re not getting 26-30 in the city….maybe on a long downhill in San Francisco. If the truck says you are, and DTE is acting weird something else is going on.

Yeah with an average mpg of 26-30 (lets say 28) DTE after fill-up would be 28 x 21.2 = 591 miles. OP gets a DTE of 385, so his average MPG is around 18.

Unless you're driving the new 2025 hybrid tacoma I don't see how 30mpg is remotely possible for any extended period.

Thanks to Everyone for their input and knowledge! My DTE has now gone back to 385, probably b/c I'm back to my
normal city driving where I'm getting 26-30+ MPG.

Thanks again to all of you!

I know this is an old thread, but your dte did not update. It is not a mileage issue, it should have gone up when you add fuel. My DTE and needle have both done this twice now, I also have a CEL fuel pressure low code.

    Work in progress...
Once my DTE get down to 100 it drops super fast. So if it says 90 miles to empty I start looking I know I can't make it 45 miles. I have seen it go from 100 to 0 in about 23 miles before. So, I wouldn't worry about anything that DTE telly you.

OP has been gone almost 2 years. He's likely used up all the extras by now. :D

Never hurts to ask…I’d be happy with one of those…26 to 30. SMH.
