Configurator by next Tuesday?

Here in NM, ol' mate Elon Musk put his Tesla showrooms on reservation land to get around this.

 

Imagine if those laws were abolished.

 

I know right, prices would be so much better for consumers as the parasitic dealership middle man wouldn't be taking a cut and fucking us.

 

I really really want to start fucking with the configurator now that we've gotten some numbers to stare at and reconsider trim levels, packages and just how much mark up we are willing to deal with when reality finally sets in (and my wife sees the bottom line...)

Except manufacturers would see how much customers will pay and not discount it. What is the incentive to discount a vehicle they know you’re willing to pay $50,000 for?

 

You know dealers buy them from the manufacturer for below MSRP right? What is their incentive for offering a discount to dealers that buy them?

Theres a reason car dealers lobbied to create laws to restrict the free market at the consumers expense.

 

Guaranteed money on port installed crap and whatever else they can trick newbies into. Oh, and financing.

 

Not having to deal with jackasses. No manufacturer wants to deal with service or follow up on issues. Look at all Teslas problems with customer service it’s laughable.

My point is a manufacturer isn’t going to give you a discount. You’re buying one fucking truck, Patrick Kermit Mahommes Toyota buys thousands of vehicles.

 

Yeah you know you’re getting a real good deal when laws have to be pushed to artificially force you to only have one option.

If dealers provided so much value with service and such, they would have no problem staying in business without laws directly limiting competition, right?

I sure do love when the government creates artificial monopolies, it’s always so good for the end consumer. Dealers always give such big discounts and buying directly from Toyota would surely be more expensive.

 

I was today years old when I found out 1,200 Toyota dealers owned independently constitute a monopoly. I guess I’ll have to Google monopoly again, swore it meant something else…

 

The last five new Toyota’s I’ve purchased had pretty exceptional discounts off MSRP. But, the last purchase was 12/3/2020. That was right before things got ugly.

The BMW I bought a couple of months ago was a custom order. That was MSRP.

I’m not buying anything again until Toyota puts all of their cards on the table. That includes trims, packages and pricing for the 4Runner.

It’s going to be a long wait but I have nice toys in the meantime.

 

Yea I can't figure out everyone's infatuation w/ wanting to guess at all of these predictions.
