    I am a semi-retired forester, so outdoor work in all weather conditions since 1979. NOT looking forward to next week or the rest of this winter!!!! Heated boots, heated jackets, lots of Merino wool clothes, but STILL get cold!!!!

    my last hunt till late season tommorow. waining rut,back side of full moon. hunting food sources now,staying off mountain and hunting tripod we got in CRP at the river.good travel spot from food and deer crossing the greenfields. bigger buck sign in here than we ever seen on the property. huge horned trees everywhere.     im not on blood thinners anymore but my meds do play into getting cold. im sure blood thinners would play a part for sure.

    Probably 30+ years ago when working with a landowner (before cell phone cameras) we found a rub on his property.....I measured the tree with a diameter tape - it was 9" in diameter at 4 1/2 feet above ground!!!!! I had seen some large elk rubs while fighting wildfires out west over the years, but this rub put them to shame. Wish I had a picture with the d-tape around it. Biggest rubbed tree I have ever seen period.
