Deer hunting BS thread

That was me. I did however, hit a buck on my way home from hunting last night.

Passed, missed, same thing

 

Truck is fine. I’ve been using my Subaru for hunting and going to my property. I bought it when our spare car to a dump last year. I’m trying to keep the miles down on my truck and it only gets 12-14 mpg.

 

I "passed" on the first two deer I ever shot at with a bow Just wanted to scare them I guess!

I passed on a 6 point with my cross bow early in the season. As in- I shot, and it passed right over his back.

 

I’ve “passed” on a lot of deer with a bow through the years

 

I’ve shot 3 deer with my crossbow, hit all 3, lost 2.

 

Well, I at least got a full pass thru with these two; I shot, and they just passed on right through. Definitely rather miss completely than to hit and not recover.

 

I agree, don’t like losing them at all. Would rather clean miss.

Sure it is. Whats worse, telling your hunting buddy it was a clean miss or telling him I dozed off and spooked 3 doe when I woke myself up snoring...

Yeah, but it seems to get harder every year. We’re in a heavily outfitted area, which means lots of hunters in concentrated areas. I don’t have a problem with the non-residents who want to come here, the problem is the outfitters bring in too many. The state doesn’t care because it’s a cash cow for them.
