You will love the fiber! Have had it 2 years now and did what your doing now with hot spot, but we bearly had 4g with 1 bar.

 

We never had internet other than Dial up until about the last 5 or 6 years. A lot of people in our are can get AT&T internet from the cell towers. We couldn't due to where we are located in relation to the nearest tower. However there is a local company the piggybacks off of ATT towers and would install at the house. I have been paying $69 a month for 10 Mbps and only getting 2-3 for the past 4 year. Slow internet is better than no internet. I canceled that 2 weeks ago, we were using our hot spots more anyway. We were supposed to get fiber from the coop over a year ago but Covid put a damper on all of that. Now they say we should have it by the end of the month.
I can't wait.

If I download a digital game, it usually takes about 3 days before I can play it then with the start up patches it’s usually around a week. Before I can really get into it.

 

We had dial-up then hughes net, then the local electric co. thru the power lines. Their equipment provider got wiped out by a tornado that went away so we used hot spot for like 5 years or more. Then the local electric co. got a grant from uncle sam and started pulling the fiber optic, man is it fast we stream everything and use wi-fi calling for phone service since cell phone service is terable to none existent. We pay $49.99 a month for internet added to our electric bill.

 

I did hughesnet for a while until they started charging per mb like a cell carrier . Then the phone company just has gone to dsl not to long ago and I gave Hughes the boot asap.

 

I had hughesnet yard ag and it wasn’t what they made it out to be. Have you looked into starlink?

 

I used to hear the internet is limitless. Well if you got hughes net then you can run out of the internet there is a limit!

Starlink internet from Elon Musk , I think . Satellite internet is definitely not for gaming that’s for sure . But I played Planetside on pc with it for several years but fast paced twitch games it sucks.
