y'all burn your scraps rather than hoard them for a decade plus in hopes that one day you will need an oddly shaped 1" by 2" piece of American ash?:rofl::rofl::rofl::anonymous::anonymous::anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

Marriage is an amazing institution. But who wants to live in an institution?

Banged out a little retail display. The boards in it here are unfinished (actually no good - problem with that batch). Gotta get a batch done to deliver to the consigner along with the display.

    That came out very nice.

Do you have a set of plans you used, or did you design it yourself?

I'm also getting a healthy amount of furniture to refinish stacked up in the shop. Takes up a lot more space. :annoyed:

    Thanks
Saw this ad and used it as a go-by

Wife wanted to buy it but I’m a penny pincher and decided it was time to put the scrap pile to use

    IMG_4068.jpg

ETA, not to mention this is the 4th year she’s been asking for a nativity scene…I told her I’d make one and she finally called my bluff and was ready to just buy it so I built this one in about 6 hours time

In the last couple of nights I burned about a dozen 5 gallon pails full of small scraps of curly maple, cherry and walnut. Killed me to do it, but it got to the point that I couldn’t move around in the shop!
Wife unit wants me to finis the burning project today. Might be another 4-5 buckets full. :annoyed:
Kiln dried hardwood sure burns hot!

Yeah I'm getting ready for another burn session or 2 myself. I've got a lot of scrap outside to burn and the full scrap box in the shop. Man it seems like I just did this, lol.

It’s a chore for sure, but at least now I’ll be able to work on my many projects this winter. Everything got set aside while I was rebuilding my deck.

To those burning their scraps, please pm me before you do! My laser bed is 12”x8” so if the scraps will fit in a USPS flat rate box maybe we can work out a deal!

I'll be getting a new planer soon so I picked up a harbor freight lift cart to put it on. All my tools are on wheels, this will also allow me to lift the planer to the same height as the table saw so I can use it as an infeed table. I found a 20% off coupon on line and it brought the price from $369 down to $295.
It weighs about 150 lbs and I was able to get it down into the basement shop myself.
    20231203_165400.jpg
Every online review I've read has said the boxes where trashed and mine was no exception, the wheels broke through the bottom.20231203_165413.jpg
So I cut the plastic bands and removed the top cover.20231203_165613.jpg
And of course mine was missing hardware as well. I found some hardware in my shop for replacements so no trip back to the store or the hardware store. They install these in the handle finger tight and there's no lock nuts so the rattle loose in shipping and then fall out the holes in the box. A common complaint. 20231203_170838.jpg
So I got the handle on, that's the only assembly needed. It pumps up easy with the foot pedal and it's easy to controll how fast it goes down with the release lever. 2 of the castors have locking wheels and the wheels are of good size and it rolls easy.20231203_172228.jpg
When the planer comes it needs to go where all this wood is so I gotta find a place for it, lol.
But I think this cart is a winner and it could have so many uses in a wood shop, metal shop, or garage.
