There were posts on pricing stating it was minimally cheaper. Problem is toyota values safety. So the added features help drive up the cost

Note $1300 added at the port. Because distributors want a big piece of you too & Toyota gives them free space on the window sticker.

Prospective Tacoma buyers need to budget at least 50k, practice manually adjusting their seats again. Oh, and please don’t forget to idle the turbo a couple minutes before shutting off.

The list had side steps, bed mat, etc which all add up.

We have a pretty good sense of what they will be based on the system that’s in the tundra. This isn’t rocket science.

Let’s be honest. 99.9% of vehicle owners are never doing anything to harm their fuel tank. If you’re doing extreme rock crawling just buy a wrangler or side by side.

This.....but a lot of people here can't understand that. If there was a magical way of getting more MPGs other than diesel then everyone would be doing it.

There's definitely some fat to be trimmed there for sure, that's why I said "pretty much". I'd also bet that this will be fairly indicative of the truck you will see on the lot generally.
In my mind, the heated seats and bedmat are the only real things I'd want. Aftermarket can do the same, but far cheaper on the rest.

I put in my own heated seats for less, but it is actually some work, so I'd eat the difference there.

Shitty 8" screen for 50k is too much for me.

While no official numbers. Toyota did state it would not improve fuel economy. Can also look at the Tundra hybrid since it is virtually the same thing, no real gains in fuel consumption.

So one could extrapolate the Tacoma won’t be much different. Might be 1-2 gains, then loose that when the air dam is removed.

I just lost 3 mpgs as of yesterday tossing on by my Blizzaks.

I look at it this way , V6 vs 4 cylinder...less torque less hp . If you don't have a lead foot you might save fuel

Judging by the GM twins and Ranger, doubtful.

I drive like there is an egg under the pedal. Currently getting 20 mixed, with the snow tires on it drops to 17.

I don't understand the screen. Turd jon's base trd or he reviewed had the bigger screen. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Thought you were talking about the non hybrid turbo having decent mileage if you keep your foot out of it?

Must be lost in translation, working today, doing three four things at once only kinda paying half attention… :p

I can tell you from VAST amounts of experience with Jeeps including near 80,000 miles on my previous JKRU, that you can turn a Tacoma into a great off road vehicle much, MUCH easier than you can turn a JK/JL into a great towing platform or any kind of well manured road vehicle. Not sure on the 2024s, but this is factual for 3rd gens and previous after 6 EJSs. This isnt even dealing with the repair/breakdown/reliability issues. That is something else, and could fill its own book.

Wranglers in general (with the exception of the 2023 392 my brother has) while superior off road, are some of the worst towing/road driving platforms I've ever driven.
The Tacoma when set up correctly is every bit as capable on 7, or 8 rated trails as any of the 6 Jeeps I've owned.

They want to have their cake and eat it too. They want better mpg but don’t want a smaller more efficient turbo engine. They want more torque but suddenly it’s too much. They think the turbo is too complex and there is too much complex new tech to break but they simultaneously compare it to and lust after full BEV’s. They think it cost too much but also want it to compete with the competition. It’s hard to believe this place is an enthusiast forum.
