So last night Hobbes was still not acting normal but he did finally come out and when I went to bed he spent the night with me. This morning he's still kind of wary of things but is being much less skittish. I'm still taking him to the vet though because I'm pretty sure he's limping a little. I think maybe when he started away from me and the box he may have hurt his leg and now it's starting to feel better. Anyway, this is us right now and yes I'm feeling a lot better too. We'll see how long that lasts when I stuff him into the carrier and drive him 15 miles to the clinic.

When my cat starts limping I know it's time to clip his nails. It always starts with the same leg which is wierd.

I would like to introduce Everett Eugene and Abbner Doyle. They are only a few months old from different litters and they get along really well. We are truly blessed.

Update on Hobbes. The vet is pretty sure he has a sprained front leg. I will be keeping an eye on him to make sure he keeps improving and in the meantime I have some anti inflammatory pain pills to give him that seem to be working. At any rate he's pretty much back to his old self again so that's a load off my mind.

A neighbor down the street sent this to me. This kitty was staring at him through his window 2 winters ago. Quite a stunning creature.

For the first time ever, we are spending Christmas out of town at a really nice rental house/cabin in Estes Park. Since my mom passed this past February, my sister, now the Matriarch of the family decided since we now have no one to worry about mobility, and to ease our first Christmas without her it might be fun.........

The reason I brought that up, is the wife and I have always gotten a nice 6' or 7' Christmas tree, which we wont be getting this year. Every year since we got her in 2016 our little-one Ripley Ellen has made it her mission to scale EVERY tree we have put up, fake or real since then.

She has been moping around a little bit this year, so we decided to get a tiny tree for her to "scale" even though we will have some friends cat sitting for her this Christmas.
Somehow missed her scaling the tree a couple years in there, and two pics of the after effects of the work to scale the tree (AKA laying flat with all 4 paws in the air), but Im thinking she will be super happy to have another tree to climb.

First year to last and some in-between........

Such work that first year for such a little thing!

Caught the aftermath of her assent up the tree for a couple years

    Ripley Ellen_1.jpg

Last year she scaled the fake tree before it was even completely put together.....
The glare she gave me about not having the ability to scale to the top/summit was very apparent :D

Didnt even want to LOOK at her papa she was so disgusted with me - lol

I’m just glad it wasn’t around to get Louisa when she was out for all that time. My mom thought it was a Canadian lynx.
