I have a '14 TRD Sport. It's not a daily driver, I use it to pull my Bass Tracker, ice-fishing gear, and light to moderate trails. I want to go 2-2.5" lift at the most to move up to 265/70/17 tires and don't want to rub when I do hit moderate trails. The 4x4 shop near me loves Rough Country and I've had several jeeps with 2-4" RC lifts with no issues, with what I do. I have read/heard that RC is not Tacoma Friendly. I don't want to do spacer blocks, I thought maybe a Bilstein 2" shock/strut kit and poly bushings on the body from what I've heard. I am NOT a mechanic and I'm not doing it myself. Pulling a boat and snow bogging is the main use. I appreciate any help.

You can fit 265/70/17's with no mods. Can't go wrong with bilsteins. Just know struts don't lift the rear. You'll either need a new leaf pack, add a leaf, or blocks for the rear.

Katzkin, Dobinsons full suspension. Redlinegoods console cover and door panel arm rests, Double USB charger in dash installed, Ballistic Jesters 16x8. BlackVue DR 590 Dash Cam
Start with a budget then start building. The shop I used does all different brands of lifts. I chose a Dobinsons suspension. But as stated you can't go wrong with Bilstein either.
Take your time and do your research and it's your choice for you.

I've heard good and bad for blocks.

You can add a 1” block to the Tacoma rear without embarrassing yourself. Get a block with a 1-2 degrees of angle. Pointy end goes to the front.

Tacoma (1st - 3rd gen) rear shocks do not add lift. That’s blocks, AAL, or new leaf springs.
