It seems like the motor mounts on these are pretty stout but I am certainly going to check them while I am in there. I should probably just replace them anyway. I am a fan of fixing things before they go bad on old cars/trucks. Usually.

Today I found out I have enough flex to yank the parking brake on pretty damn hard

I didn't think it was a thing either. But it happened twice, could feel it in the pedal and the truck while extended was reluctant to move. Can see where it's pulled the mount near the gas tank out of position.

Your truck would has the over-the-leaf brake situation, right?

EDIT: Thinking more, I guess flex wouldn't affect that much--whatever spring interference is there should be pretty constant since the brake cable crosses the leaf close to the axle. You're just pulling on the cable between the axle and the frame?

I've ran into that even with my Alcan leafs. I can imagine it being even more noticeable with the 63's you have.

I've had that mount removed for a long time. It would bind when I put the truck on a shop lift with the All-Pro leafs

    No more lights to wire.

Just have 2 compressors left to wire... and the rear winch.

Related to lights - completed driver side tail light bracket and rear bed stiffener setup. 1/8x2x2 angle iron under the bed acting as a sandwich plate along with 1/8 flat bar on top and two 3/16x1.5x1.5 bed stiffeners that bolt to the tail light brackets so the factory screws aren’t holding the lights any more and it’s just two bolts for the tails. Tie down points will be added to the bed stiffeners that will get some cosmetic stuff to make them look good (not as good as @Kwikvette ’s stiffies but they’ll be inspired by them lol).

Are the bed stiffeners really that much of an issue? If so I will fab something up, but I never drive around with the tailgate down.

For people that put some weight on the bed rails and / or off road a lot and in some cases neither, they’ll see gaps appear between the bed and the tailgate. In my case I have cut the outer sheet metal and lift my bed to work on stuff so the bed would fold inward on itself.

The tailgate wouldn’t even fit after lifting the bed without me pushing the corners of the bed back into place.

If you carry weight on the rails and bounce around on rough roads they are an issue. The front will also begin to tear.
