Oil capacity is 5.6 qt, in line with other applications such as the Highlander. 12.8 qt is the coolant capacity, 0.5 qt more than the Highlander, because "commercial grade"

    "87 or higher"

Luckily Toyota left the door open for future octane thread battles.

"Between Wheel wells 44.7 in. 44.7 in."

That's a shame. Advantage Ford Ranger for sure.

Actually, there is probably some truth to that. Bigger radiator for increased cooling needed for truck application.

People in 3rd gen in shambles.
They could put “do not exceed 87 or your engine will explode” and guys would still run premium because “it runs better I can tell”

new GTI runs on 87 as well. Plenty of turbos run on 87.

The important thing is the rated power and torque figures are on 87. Ability to run on 87 is necessary to maintain the reputation for an overland/off-grid/zombie apocalyse platform.

On 93, there's potential for 40 more horses than Toyota's rating, once the KDMax/OTT folks get their hands on it: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4th-gen-dyno-numbers-and-graphs.818596/

2015: Last year (in the US) to have a factory locker, MT, and 6’ bed

2023: Last year for the Access Cab, MT, and a 6’ bed.

2024: Long live the $40,000 + wheelbarrow, so long 6’ bed MT combination.

It sucks that they didn’t make the actual body of the truck wider instead of going with the poked out tires and bushwhacker flares look.

Yes, thats right. New MK8 GTI now runs on 87, and I have a MK8 GTI as well. I put 91 octane in it. If you want a tune and use 87, APR offer that option. Unitronic only 91 and 93.

exactly - I hope Toyota releases a factory tuner like Ford did for the Bronco. My 2.3 turbo is like 275 hp/300 lb ft on 87 and it bumps up to 300 hp/330 lb ft automatically if you put 93 in it. But with 93 AND the Ford tuner it goes all the way up to 330hp/382 lb ft. Also nice bc you can calibrate computer for diff tire sizes and such too…

You’re selling the Bronco to get a Tacoma?

Does anyone else think the led daytime running lights look better on the later model 3rd gens? Plus the sequential turn signals were pretty cool as well.

I know the 4th gens come standard with led headlights, but haven't seen the led daytime running light.
