Who is going for year 1 vs waiting for later year gen 4?

No plans mean no plans. Certainly not now. I have a 2021 with low miles so I am in no rush to change.

 

I'm thinking about buying one first year. Trouble is that my '96 runs so well that it would be a shame to replace.

 

2nd gen!!

 

I just put a deposit to reserve a 4D TRD Sport. slated for arrival in late Jan. I would have waited a year but my 2009 Sport's frame is on its way out. It's a spare car so if there are TSB's it won't be too much of an issue. The Dealership is about 6 miles from me and i run by it everyday. If my body fat dips under 5% by 2025 then you'll know the truck is chock full of issues.

 

I'll be waiting at least 3 years to even consider one.

You have a warranty who cares about bug being worked out and let’s face it. The 3rd gen still has half if not more then half the same bugs as its first year production in 2016 lol

 

Waiting allows kinks to work out AND inventory to come up so prices will tick down. Only interested in the hybrid anyway and thats a ways off.

 

Depends on what kind of deal I could work out, but I may have to say 1st or 2nd year as I have been waiting out the lifespan of the 3rd gen to finally see this 4th gen.

My 27 year old 1996 is a first full model year and has treated me well (1995.5 was only half a year run)

 

I have 2018 (70,000 miles) and still liking it, no real problems as of yet. Unless some crazy good deal or something bad arises I don't see myself buying another truck for at least 4 years.

 

Ideally, I would like to wait at least third or fourth production year. Crossing my fingers that my 2012, presently 240K km, will last until then. I figure that I can spend about 3500$ CAD/yr on parts and it would still be worth the wait.

 

I'm waiting.
2024 has nothing I need today and my gen2 is still running strong and getting better mpg than 2024.

 

Looking like 2025/2026 for me would be my thoughts at this point. 3rd gen is working well for my needs at the moment and only has 50K on it.

 

I'm gonna wait for either year 2 or 3. Should allow them the proper time to work out any issues. I hope.
