Good to know! Since this is my daily drive I'm happy that my passanger's and I stand the best chance of survival with my 09 Taco. Safety is number 1 - what's the point if you're not around after an accident or you stand the best chance to avoid it in the first place!

The jumpseats in the ranger are nicer on XCabs that only have two doors. Back is against the side window...actually have a little bit of space.

    Other than that...?

I own both an 03 ranger edge and an 08 tacoma 4x4. I was very pleased with my ranger. If I would have bought it 5 years ago with 4x4, I would have probably never bought my Tacoma. But now that I have my Tacoma, I love it. I love the power, acceleration and looks. Off road though, I tend to be more ballsy with my ranger. It's been through a lot, especially for a 2 wheel and is still running strong!
With that being said, it's hard to compare the two. I got my Tacoma because I needed more space and wanted 4x4 but I couldn't bring myself to selling my ranger. It's actually nice having both but I baby my tacoma and ride the sh*t out of my ranger!

No, I don't think I will. I'm a product of my environment. The dude is a troll and you need to recognize that.

There is no troll here, i've started looking at the Tacoma as a truck, found this forum and joined because i wanted to learn a bit more. Its as simple as that. My intention with the post was not to make anyone stomp their feet or anything, its the impression i got after reading a few pages of "Zomg!1! Toyota or die!". Every single post but a few (writen by people who had rangers) was insulting everything else made because it was not stamped with Toyota on the side.

You can throw around the 'troll' insults all you want, i could just as easily call you a Toyota fanboy.

The ranger is a nice truck that can be had for pretty good deals now. It does every thing I've wanted it to do, and hasnt gone to the shop once. Thats all. I honestly didn't mean to make you upset.

If it makes you feel any better, i'd rather have a 2009 Tacoma then my 2003 Ranger. :)

w/e RipSnot, I'm with you... you find "certain types" of people in peculiar places, or find that "certain types" of people tend to drive a particular kind of truck.

Not calling names, but you fill in the "_____"

Don't let these guys turn you off the truck though... I'm very happy with my 2009 thus far feel it's well worth the money. I'm learning more and more about the truck every day.

I join forums for technical questions and advice. www.Ranger-Forums.com has a new "generation" of members that are all fairly young and frankly, not the kinda people I want to associate with. From what I've read here... I'm not seein' too much of a diff.

    Okay Oasis...

Are you saying that b/c I'm 23, I'm not the kind of person you'd like to associate with?

    Or is it b/c I'm;
    -I'm an eliteist?
-I listen to music that was recorded before I was born?
-a hard working blue collar worker?
-a conservative republican, and a bleeding heart liberal hater?
-A second amendment rights believer & exceriser?

    Maybe its some other reason...

Well whatever the reason is, I know that you'd be missing out by not being a part of this forum. I know that with an attitude like that, we wont be miss you if you decide not to continue posting.

I'm highly offended by the last line in your post (and it takes alot to offend me, a railroad man).

This should settle the argument once and for all...

    Tacoma vs. Ranger

My condolences to the family of the guy driving the Ranger.

My sincere apologies go out to the family of the 66 year old male.

That sucks make me glad I have a Tacoma...my neighbor has a 200? Ford Ranger 4x4 and hes been having trouble with the transmission and a head gasket problem and i believe he is still under 100k miles. Not saying they are all like that but thats my experience. But Toyota has/had that damn frame rust problem...
