I have an ATV (Grizzly 660), but sold the plow I had for it. I found my driveway just isn't super plow-able, at least with a smaller machine. The slope on the side is too steep to allow for pushing the snow next to the garage without getting stuck. I could push it all into a row and then make a pass across to push it off the edge, but that only works for smaller storms.

My x500 is mostly okay for this work - the weight, chains, and locking diff help. It isn't hard to get it stuck but I've learned what I can get away with. The biggest benefit is it can blow the snow places where I can't easily push it.

We get a decent amount of snow. Our storms are usually not much beyond a foot, and if we do get more, it's light. Our last storm last year was around 28" of heavy wet stuff. That wasn't fun to clear. I went out twice. The snowblower attachment has a tendency to want to ride up on top of the heavy stuff so I have to take it really slow. At one point, I grabbed my little 24" Ariens walk behind thinking maybe it'd be the better tool, but I had to go even slower with that and it's half the width so it would have taken much longer.

This was the worst we've gotten - 32" overnight. I don't know if I wasn't paying attention to the weather or what, but I remember it was snowing as I went to bed and I woke up to this. At the time, I just had the little Ariens.

I bought this front blade for a Farmall 140 from a friend of mine, I've used it more pushing dirt than snow. Hope it stays that way :D

I'm on the MA/VT border. People think I'm nuts for running dedicated snow tires because "we don't get much snow anymore". Sure, it isn't what I remember as a kid but it certainly isn't nothing.

Travel near the CT border, though, and they really don't get much.

Yeah we hired a small crew with a tracked high flow Skidsteer and forestry mulcher last year to clear a fairly steep hillside and gain some more view. Insane machine to watch work, looks like a great way to make a living. Granted the machine combo has to be insanely expensive.

The more I’ve spent some time thinking, the tractor makes more sense long term. I think I would get a bunch of use out of a skid steer now for dirt and rock work but it won’t be forever and after that it would sit. I’d love to find an enclosed cab option for the driveway but there’s more practical ways to do that. I’d sell the tractor to then fund the skid steer and I would do the opposite after so it’s just more work than it’s worth. Really appreciate all the input everyone! It’s nice to hear what everyone else is using and how they like it.
