Yea thats what I'm getting. I just mean compared to 255/80r17 the tire choices are very limited. Stmaxx is most common, they are heavy and I've seen them in person and am not a fan. Mastercraft courser cxt would be good but impossible to find around me. Geolander g003 mts are 4 lbs lighter then st maxx, thats the route I'm going.

Personal experience with the 2018 TRD Pro, as I did the modding in this order to see how little/far I had to take it. They did not have any factory lift at this time other than the pro naturally being 1" taller than stock 4x4

33" (285/75/16) on OEM 16" TRD Pro wheels (0 offset)
    1. Rubbed with no lift no CMC, speedbumps, driveways and turning passenger side especially in reverse.
    2. No lift with mild CMC: Still rubbed albeit a little less with turning and driveways. I think I can just barely kiss the cab mount under 3. very specific scenarios but not enough to worry about daily or offroading.
    3. Wescott collar lift in the front and RXT leaf pack in the rear: Basically no rubbing. When weighted down I think I have got it to scrub the wheel well liner in some rare occasions (once or twice a year).

If it were my daily driver I'd probably just do 32" and not mess with anything.

There is definitely rubbing on UCAs unless he has spacers, or neutral offset wheels. The pro wheels are -13 offset, but are also only 7" wide from what I've read here, granted I could be very wrong and they are just 7.5" wide, everyone here gives a different answer.

I've had the RXT pack in option 1 and 3 with all sorts of different weights and setups. 3 empty is definitely harsh. 3 loaded probably feels better than stock did( it's been a while). I also have Rago hammer hangers.

Wescott in the front, never had an issue. CBI aluminum baja bumper and warn Evo 10s winch.

Well I figured I would update this for anyone wanting to know if a 255/85r16 fits on a stock 22 or 23 pro with the billet uca.

I got my geolander g003s mounted today on my stock 23 pro 255/85r16 11700km, alignments never been touched. I have rokblokz regular mudflaps with out the spacer on the L bracket so it pulls them out of the way more.

I had heated the plastic in the rear of the front wheel well and heated the flap to mold everything for a bit more clearance before I had the tires mounted. I didn't like how the flaps were sitting, and I didn't cut the extra marked notch on the flaps out. This is what rokblokz says to do to have more clearance but then there is a gap.

As you can see tires clear the factory uca at full lock so no issues there, not sure if my extra clearance was needed on the cab side by the flap but I doubt it. No rub when on road no matter what I do. It may kiss the truck off road a tiny bit but nothing I would be concerned about.

I've seen 255/80r17 and 255/85r16 out perform wider tires many times in the terrain I run and I think they look awesome. I don't really care what instagram thinks about my truck lol. So go nuts if you have a newer pro, it all clears fine. 20231003_130829.jpg 20231003_174849.jpg 20231003_131622.jpg

Just put 285/75/16 on stock weeks on my 23’ pro with 1/4” spacer on front only and get no rubbing through full range of travel on UCA or anywhere else.

Always entertaining when some folks are committed to the idea they've sold themselves that their truck doesn't rub, despite everything we know about these trucks being to the contrary. They must have super special setup skills and picked the perfect parts no one else knows about.

I’d say it’s about the same entertainment level as some folks selling themselves on the idea that they can definitively say someone else’s truck does/does not rub without having all the specs or seeing it in person ;)

The problem with getting a definitive answer like this on this forum is that there are almost always a bunch of variables that people often fail to mention (backspacing, offset, UCA setup, alignment, spacers, even tire model) that make it extremely difficult to say with 100% certainty that a setup does/does not rub unless all that info is provided.

If only it weren't for the fact that like clockwork, said magical arraignment of parts exists on a tire-shined Pro or spacer-lifted sr5. Trucks which have never nor will likely ever see full compression anywhere near lock while on 3 wheels. The realities are the geometry of these trucks don't allow for full articulation and steering without contact issue on the usual upgraded tire sizes, and no secret offset exists to change this.

    But sure, enjoy the magic.

Yeah, you’re right. Nobody has ever put 33’s on their Pro and had them fit without rub
