Not everyone needs 600 hp to get work. Commuter BEV's can be had for under 30k

You can get an F150 Lightning for $52k right now off the lot today. You get a $7500 EV credit, so real price is $45k, right now today.

The F150 Lightning Pro has 462 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque all while getting 78 MPGe city and 63 MPGe highway.

This is just a single truck as an example, not a car. The Model Y was the best selling vehicle in the entire world Q1 of this year, you are out of touch.

Amazing how the world did that but updating the electrical grid infrastructure, which is currently underway, is never gonna happen. Lack of research and knowledge of this is staggering.

But they still buy vehicles that get 15-20 mpg, travel at high speed on the highway, floor it at a traffic light and then complain about gas prices. Hmmm

these guys would have been crying about losing their horse and wagon 120 years ago.

"The guvernment is going to raise the price of horseshoes and grain and force me get rid of old Bessy! It's tyranny I tell ya!"

Lots of political jurisdictions are rolling back the EV mandates. I kind of predicted they would because phasing out ICE will be a lot harder than people think. In the US the legacy automakers are in bed with the government, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lobby to try and get the mandates dropped or delayed.

That being said, if California upholds their EV mandates others will probably follow suit. Very interesting time we live in.

They don’t, but fairly easy to get high hp/tq out of electric motors than ICE. Why most of the family sedans and truck EVs are ridiculously high. That and the weight of those vehicles, need a bunch of power just to get them moving.

Imagine when batteries get lighter, won’t need all that much power. “Should” lower costs too.

The T4 Tacoma engine is a stop gap until BEV goes mainstream. We are so close to that, probably better off skipping the 4G and waiting a few years to see how things pan out. Or unless you absolutely need a new truck or itching for the “must have it!” lust of a new platform.

Yes, because a fully developed vehicle and fuel infrastructure that is affordable and practical and that’s going to take billions of dollars of investments to completely dismantle for… reasons is exactly the same as using animals for transport.

The only reason gasoline vehicles are going away is people are literally putting a gun to our heads and telling us we can’t buy them for much longer.

Electric cars do nothing better than gasoline cars except they tend to be faster at the cost of massive weight. That seems to be the only selling point electric car proponents seem to come up with. Look how fast they are! They all handle like shit.

Comparing them to a horse and buggy is asinine.

I think the real answer is a bit more complicated than that

Playing the victim keeps it short and easier to understand for some people

The complicated answer is we’ve convinced ourselves that only a small part of the world should stop using combustible energy sources at all costs.

Who is dismantling any infrastructure? If the stopped making ICE cars today we’d still need all that infrastructure for decades longer.

And “literally” doesn’t mean what you think it means.
