How was the Championship done yrs ago, like before the BCS bs, seriously?
Didn't you have to go undefeated & hang 50 a game or was that the BCS era?

How many years ago? Because Alabama has at least 6 national championships because their local newspaper said they think they are the champs.

 

At this rate, lets just make every team play each other, three times. No 'different team' from beginning to end of season argument, everyone experiences the exact same competition, no difference in strength of schedule, and no other excuses. They can play every night of the week, stream it live on a subscription service outside of what we currently have, make tons of money, recruit 10x as many players to account for injuries, let them play with no pads or helmets, OT is determined by head coach cage match, tag team with punters if they choose, and targeting can be done away with. I can't think of a single thing that could possibly go wrong

This feels like the overreaction I’ve seen from every Alabama fan because they refuse to admit that the committee contradicts itself and made a mistake, simply because it benefitted Alabama

Thats why it increasingly got crazier and comical; I'm glad you picked up on the sarcasm lol. I don't think there's a layout that can make even the majority of people happy at the end of the day. No one likes to lose, and no one likes to feel left out, rightfully so sometimes.

 

You’re not wrong, someone will always be unhappy, but that’s why I’ve always stood on the “follow the criteria you set” instead of “we picked them cuz we feel they are goodest”.

the only way to prove one team is better than another is on the field. Period. To say Alabama or Texas is better than FSU because it seems that way is just stupid. There is nothing factual and nothing that can prove that, so we HAVE to have criteria that we use. The committee did last year, but they ignored it this year and it’s an insult to the sport.

Seriously though, there's no reason to have criteria to use if you don't use them. I'm glad to see SEC make it in, but it doesn't mean they deserved it.

 

I'm still just confused how FSU's defense alone didn't get them the opportunity to play in the big show. Louisville averaged 35pnts a game all season and were held to a measly 2 FGs this weekend. Guess we'll see how valiant the D truly is against Georgia now.

I agree, but I don’t think the bowl game will show anything.

Alabama fans keep saying “prove to the committee they were wrong by beating Georgia” but it’s going to be the opt out bowl and both teams feel shunned by being in it. It won’t mean a thing.

Oh I could care less about who is benefited, I'm just the type of fan most people hate. The kind that doesn't really actually care all that much, only watches like 4 games per season, wants their team to win, but knows they never will, so pulls for *almost* any other SEC team to take it home. I'm just here for the shit show, don't really have anything good to contribute lol.

When you pull for one of the worst teams, you just start to enjoy anybody else thats remotely close to your school being successful (or favorable I guess). We can't all have fun, and there can't be two number 1's; that would be 11.

 

The Refs see what they wanna see.
