Im curious how 3rd gen values will go. Will they be similar to Tundra and hold strong if not go up (2.5 gen tundras are going for MSRP prices used) or suck. I’ve been shopping new Tundras and Raptors, my trade offers have ranged from $36k to $41k for my loaded clean LR OR. I’ve heard every excuse too, from the new gen is coming to the market being soft (despite wanting full asking on theirs). The 2024 at $58k makes jumping to a full size more palatable. The loaded 2024 OR LR Limited Tundra I got an offer on was discounted to $62k, so for $4k more I can have a loaded tundra similar to the Tacoma. Sh*t even the 2023 8k mile raptor I looked at was $79k so for $20k more I can get the halo vehicle for off-roading. After the initial fan boy gotta have it dies down I’m guessing discounts cause any sane person realizes the value just isn’t there with these prices and see people moving elsewhere.

 

Think wait a year to see how it plays out.

My truck is only 2 years old, not even sure why I am looking. But I have always done that since I could remember. Would always grab autotraders once a week back when they were paper.

 

I found a TRD Pro 4Runner at $1,000 off MSRP. Kinda interesting perhaps.

 

You always need a plan in case your truck gets totaled tomorrow.

 

With all the dumbasses on the road that is a good possibility. We had our first snow here the other day, fucking shit show! Good thing I have adjusted my hours so I miss most of the rush hour jackassery.

 

Since the person I quoted bought a Double cab, you’re looking at $47k to start for a f-150 with as much as carpet in it. Add a few options and we’re deeeep in the 50s MSRP

a no-option XLT 4x4 is $53.5k, for instance. That’s with the base v6 that makes less power and torque than the 4g taco

throw XLT high and the 5.0 in there and you’re a hair’s breadth from $60k.

 

they canceled the NA V6. Base eco makes 400 ft/lbs.

read ford is going to have the hybrid the same price as the 3.5 eco.

 

Same, dad used to take me to the car dealer so I could collect the brochures they had lining the walls. Lol.

I was using the 2023 b+p. 2024 XLT 4x4 with real back seats is $53k before you even add options to match taco features. Throw XLT mid on there and we’re still closing in on $60k

 

Every damn year, the first snow always seems to "surprise" folks a here in NH. First storm is always a busy day/night for numb-nuts, we are toned often. Then, add all the numb-nuts assholes that moved here from NJ, CT, NY, MA the last few years who have more money than brains. They think there ~80k / 100k SUV will help them. They created the shithole mess with policies, but run away to "the hills" and wonder why we only have two plow trucks and why there is plowable snow on the roads...

here we have so many transplants from the West coast that never driven on the snow..it is quite the spectacle! I try and avoid it.

 

Try living in the south, these drivers are something else, left lane campers, scared of some drizzle, finger phone f**king stupid people. Wife is from here and I’m from IL, she did real well her first winter back home before we moved back but I remember her telling me she was gonna die trying to drive her new AWD Rav to work with a few inches of snow, took her to work most the winter, lol.

 

Yeah bummer the did away with the NA V6….and I have done that, clicked on the ‘23 instead of the ‘24.

Everyone prices it out differently depending on their wants and needs. I look at base 4WD extra cabs for one thing. SR Tundra DC6.5’ 4WD is $43K. 4G SR XtraCab 4WD is $33,700, so $10K less, but loose the suicide doors.

For a basic 2WD RC pickup truck, the Ford F150 is a pretty good deal. Only advantage the Tacoma has is the space in the extra cab, guess that is one good thing about it. It’s the regular cab people have been screaming for but with a decent amount of gear storage. Sort of like the the 2nd Gen Tundra RC.

 

Lol! My wife is from SC. She grew up on a farm so doesn’t do too bad, but prefers for me to drive. I grew up in PA in the country, needed 4WD just to get up our 1/4 mile long driveway. Didn’t even use snow tires back there.

Now in Idaho, they don’t really plow the streets here, go light on deicer. (Which is good I think, less rust rot) Roads turn into a sheet of ice. So I do kinda get it, but nothing a good set of snow tires wouldn’t fix. Just tossed on my Blizzaks. Have studs on her 1st Gen, she said it feels like a tank.

 

I’m new here but I would have to think that not every single Tacoma will have $7-$14,000 in add-ons and packages?

 

I just watched this video and found it funny that they said the TRD Off-road will be the affordable off-roader compared to the Pro and Hunter. We’re in some bizarro universe where $50K+ is now considered affordable.
