Makes sense..could just get a HDMI junction box (I forget the exact name) if you wanted. I did that for my gaming systems, 1 in and 5 out.

 

The inventory at CarShop (next door to Peruzzi Toyota) has never been what it was prepandemic, but this is one of the lowest levels I've seen in months; I think there was some sort of Thanksgiving/Black Friday special. As usual, I went on a Sunday, so they were closed...

Prior to COVID, this place tended not to stock vehicles more than five years, and even the oldest didn't have more than 50-60K miles. As used cars became scarcer and scarcer, standards had to be lowered, and CarShop started stocking vehicles that were older but in great condition with low miles. This 2014 Chrysler Town & Country, with 70K miles, is one such example that I saw on the lot yesterday; I've also seen a lot of newer cars with 100K miles or more, which used to be unheard of at this dealer...

 

The QR code was not on the window sticker, but I just looked it up manually on CarShop's website. They are asking surprisingly less than I was expecting them to be asking, and this van is in great shape from what I could tell. Still, banks charge obscene interest rates for vehicles this old even if you have good credit, so I really hope that the new owner pays cash!

I have never been a huge van of the 2008-2020ish Dodge and Chrysler minivans, but one of my coworkers at NAVMAR had an older one of this generation and has gotten it past 200K with virtually no issues. He is also an Air Force veteran, airplane mechanic, and private pilot. All three of those things equate to someone is super OCD about vehicle maintenance, so I have a feeling he could get a Yugo to 200K on the original drivetrain...

 

Prior to 2021, my best friend John and I would wander this lot on Sundays, and it was absolutely jam packed with every vehicle you could imagine. Not so much now...

 

I feel like I don't see this generation normally anymore, they're either wheelchair conversion vans or someone is living in it.

 

This area would have been full of cars back in 2020 or earlier...

 

I saw some vehicles parked near where I left my truck, but I didn't see anybody on the lot, which is probably better because I was still positive for COVID; I did see this deer, however...

I also spotted this 2001-2004ish Chevy Venture in the "recent trade-in" section and CarShop, likely destined for the wholesale auction due to being about 20 years old and has some pretty decent damage...

 

One of my favorite things to do is peruse the recently-traded shitboxes on the backlot...

 

You were talking about people living in their vans. If you look closely at this 2003-2005 Chevy Astro, you will see it is full of crap and looks as though someone was actually living in it; I have come here a lot since about April or May of 2020, and this poor van has not left this spot since at least that time. It also has not been inspected in more than seven years, so I have a feeling it has probably been sitting here since before the pandemic started; I have no idea why it was parked, but it is from towards the end of the Astro/Safari production run so it is a newer one, and it is decent physical condition aside from a few minor issues; I think it was a work van owned by the dealership, and it had some sort of mechanical failure that led to them parking it...

 

This might be the Astro's replacement...
