I am tagging @Stitchgirl90 in this post because she loves Tahoes...

Even if it were fairly new, this 2013 Chevy Tahoe LT would be a hard sell in Pennsylvania. Why though?

2WD SUVs do not sell well in these parts; I'm talking about legit truck-based RWD SUVs, not crossovers like the Chevy Traverse that have are front-wheel drive by default if not equipped with AWD!

2WD pickups are quite popular around here; I daily drive one and I see hundreds of them every month. For some reason though, people prefer SUVs like Tahoes and Expeditions with 4WD; I peeked through window of this Tahoe, and the lack of a 4WD selector dial confirmed it...

 

These are actually Chevy wheels!

 

Before l scrolled down l had a strong feeling it was 2 wheel drive.

 

Why? How? I find it almost impossible to tell the 2WD 2007-2014 GMC SUVs from the 4WDs without either looking at the dash to see if there's a shift-on-the-fly knob, or looking underneath to see if there is a front diff and transfercase. This can also be a crapshoot, however. My friend has a 1994 Ford F350 crew cab dually that was originally a 7.3L IDI Turbodiesel. These engines are reliable, but underpowered and slow even in turbo form. The previous owner took a 7.3L PowerStroke out of a slightly newer donor truck (likely totaled; I can't see a reason to butcher a perfectly good PowerStroke F-series) that happened to have 4WD, and my buddy's truck still has the transfercase in it, albeit not connected to anything...

I think that the Dodge Journey is a piece of junk whether it's a a totaled wreck sitting in a salvage yard, a rusty shitbox with serious mechanical issues, or even a brand new vehicle on a showroom floor...

 

See the CarShop sticker in the center of the windshield? I think that this one might actually be going on the lot rather than to wholesale...

 

This gray 2017 Journey is a bit beat up and a has a yellow "THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR SALE" sticker in the windshield, which from my experience working at a car dealer indicates that it is destined for the wholesale auction...

2WD though, so it'll be worthless in these parts during a snowstorm...

 

It amazes me how many vehicles get traded into CarShop with obvious body damage, like this 2011 Subaru Forester...

 

Nothing about it screams 2 wheel drive, it was just you saying it would be a hard sell that immediately tipped me off.

 

Prior to 2000, it was incredibly easy to tell the 2WDs from the 4WDS, because like pre-2016 Tacomas the 2WDs were 5-lugs and the 4WDs were 6-lugs. The 2WD ones were also noticeably lower to the ground the 4WDs...

 

Purely as a term of endearment, this 2005 Mazda3 is a shitbox!

 

This sticker is supposed to be backwards...

 

I reversed it so we can actually see what it says...

 

I didn't know they made a 1-wiper conversion kit for the Mazda3...
