also @somebody didn't know you were still making those plates, i figured after wave 2, that was it.
Have you dont any changes to the model since?

reason i ask is that last year i noticed it rubbing the edge of the bed away and managed to chamfer it
    IMG_20231130_173220311.jpg
    IMG_20231130_173216665.jpg
Took a grinder and knocked down the one edge that would contact the bed and have not had issues since

Yep still going! I have not made changes for that (trying to avoid exposing more metal). It seems variable depending on the truck bed (from the ones that I have observed). My stock panel even had the same rub. What I have seen is that the bed portion on one side (drivers side on mine) lifts slightly causing the rub. A grinder or file knock down on a case by case

As I don't run a bed mat and drag heavy toolboxes and truck parts in the bed, there are many wear marks already  My factory tailgate panel had a crack on the lower edge; I don't even remember how it happened.

y'know, cuz we know how to spend other people's money

@Windigo or any other second gen owners. I found a bunch of Tacoma manuals for disassembling pretty much the entire drivetrain if anyone is interested.
Was going to toss it in the recycle bin, but thought someone might want it.

Also explains why my Tacoma's transfer case output shaft leaked after just 47k...

Well, yours was assembled on a Friday shift in Texas by "Merixans, they probably plugged it with a taquito... :bananadead:

This probably confirms next T4R is destined to be assembled in Mexico. Can't see them pumping Prado, Lexus and T4R all there at the same time. Unless they have no plans selling those in large volumes.

^Mine was assembled on the graveyard shift (or whatever "shift 3" is) according to the label under the tailgate panel I took off :p

As much as people like to joke about vehicles built in Mexico, the TEMA audit results for the Mexican plants were #1 regularly! Only challenged by Canadian quality!

TEMA was our internal quality check indicator. And because they were American, they didn’t like our Canadian plant, even though we far surpassed their American plants. It was kind of a conflict of interest, but they were the big fish…. So who were we??? Some shit little Canadian company….

Ok, rant over. But I can talk in depth about this if anyone is really truly interested…

Has the TEC OF4WD membership email gone out this year? Just wondering if I missed seeing it. Last month was pretty chaotic for me.
