Hello, I currently have a 2020 Tacoma Trd Offroad 4x4. I've had on the base dobinsons adjustable kit (without the add a leafs) for coming up on 3 years and I believe I'm ready to get to get a new kit. This kit was great for the money but I believe I want something that rides a little better. I need something that handles great while going trail riding in the mountains and something that isn't so rough on the road. Also as i continue my build i may need something to handle a little more weight in the front and rear. I wouldn't be attest to buy the upgraded dobinsons kit or changing brands to OME or another company. What would yall recommend?

I really like my icon rxt’s for my leaf pack. Since you mention possibly adding more weight you can run them at a few different stages so the adjustability is nice. I’m running the stage 2 with a drawer system and full size spare and it’s butter.

I've been seeing icons more and more but it seems like a ton of money. For my next suspension I'd like to stay sub $4500 if I can but I truly want the perfect mix of on road quality and articulation on slower mountain trails. Also should I get some ones with reservoirs?

Visit @AccuTune Offroad . It will be valved according to your tacomas weight, type of riding you frequently do and ride quality you want . Take the guessing out of the equation. They have different setups within you budget. You can thank me later for this advice :D

    Non yet.
I installed the Icon stage 4. Added about 2". mid $3K. really like the way it works on the road and off. A lot better
than stock. Only thing I had to compare to is an FJ80 with OME J springs. Lot better than that also.

I can vouch for accutune as well. Got my whole suspension setup through them and it rides great.Tuned specifically for your application. This is what I would go with from what your budget is and how you want your ride. Fox and king are definitely a pretty penny but it’s a buy once cry once kinda thing. This setup here is just slightly over $4500 with their UCA, but if you already have a decent one no need to switch that out. Should be slightly less than that without the control arm (Plus you get their converted tundra shock in the rear, netting slightly more travel).

For me the price was well worth it.... went with Icon stage 8 and couldn't be happier. After 2 years the truck still rides/handles awesome, no driveline vibs, and haven't heard a squeak from the rxt leaf pack. On/off road the truck is a pleasure to drive.

Great in theory until they need rebuilding. But hey, you gotta pay to play, right?

I just replaced stock OffRoad Bilsteen's with a spacer to the Bilsteen 6112 / 5160's for $1800 installed / aligned...Can't believe how much of a difference. They were installed Friday and I was off road doing 40 mph in Arizona trails like I would of never been able to before with the Toyota stock Bilsteen set up...Anyway, to your original question, seems every box your looking to check the Bilsteen checks...Rides great on highway and handles off road like a champ. Good Luck!

Update for this thread, I ended up biting the bullet on the dobinson MRR kit with reservoirs and a lead spring replacement rated for 600lbs! I'll keep yall updated on how it rides on and offroad

I replaced Bilstein 5100 in stock coils with nitrocharger shocks on OME 886 coils. I'm also running steel skids under engine, transmission, transfer case and cats as well as sliders, steel front bumper and 12k winch. The ride is truly much better than I expected.

Finally got them installed. The truck rides fantastic on and offroad. NO MORE SQUAT as well. I'll post some more videos on them to my Instagram if you'd like to keep up @cement_2020_trd

Good choice on the MRR kit. I'm patiently waiting for mine from Mike at Exit Offroad. What did you have your front height set at?
