    Stock all the way!
They included this image below for backing up the struts replacement.. guess they have a point. But they said these parts were leaking. As for the differential fluid change needed , it states "Your differential fluid needs to be changed due to the mileage on your vehicle."

    Gates transmission hose.....10'......$25

Dropping the trans pan only gets 20% of the old ATF out...
so you're left with 80% old black stuff............so like ....$20....if your okay w/caca

Two squeeze bottles of Valvoline rear diff fluid .....$34

    three belts.........$53

they might tell you to RUN........

the same if you have the 'White smoke'...
or grease ladden plugs........or oily coolant in radiator/reservoir....
or gas bubbles coming out of the radiator while its running...

    Still gonna need new thermostat...
    radiator hoses..
    half doz hose clamps...

as I've said before....if you've got old diff fluid.....change, drive 6mos....and then change again.........why ....because a rear seals and bearings job is $1000+ at a garage...
you really don't want to bathe those in old diff fluid and metal shavings....

and you probably cant do those if they fail ...gotta watch 2hrs of videos, need $300 in parts,...plus new dry shoes...$200 shop press, that $100 axle tool from timmy....so another $350 in special tools just to start...Ouch

so....an extra $34 for 2qts sounds much cheaper......

I'm usually the bearer of bad news here......but it looks like you got gang banged here ...tonite....

    sorry about that...

Your still gonna need a lot of stuff done..

    list is long...

probably end up needing couple/three engine sensors....
at least outer tie-rods, upper/lower ball joints, front wheel bearings and their inner seal....

Flush brakes and power steering fluid...

inspect pads, rotors, shoes, universal joints, carrier bearing, all the power cables, and grounds.....
look for header and exhaust leaks, anything dripping in rear as the differential, and rear axle seals,..
leaking rear hard lines.....check parking brake cable...rear leaf and shackle bushings..

It could need plugs, plug wires, water pump, egr control, pcv valve/ gromet, fuel filter, fan clutch, upper/lower control arm bushings, sway bar and steer rack bushings....
the flex brake lines, new vacuum hoses....maybe new heater hoses, and water hoses at the back of the engine that go thru the egr valve and throttle body...

that torsion bar bushing on 5lugs thats bound to be rotten by now.... that keeps the wheel from moving fore and back and wearing all the other bushings out.

Pull those front strut coils and clean/epoxy them.

Clean the engine and start looking for oil leaks....and there's plenty of places to look...

Before you get in too deep....you might want to drive it around a while and make sure nothing really major is wrong....if the frame is rotten....
If its loosing coolant or using oil.....that might be the hint....

Basically, several years worth of work......everybody needs a hobby ...right.

If you're are gonna have everything done by someone else.....you may have chose the wrong generation.....should of at least gotten a 2nd or 3rd gen....

However you'll get a lot more help out of these guys here.....than the others combined...

I started off with a $2K white smoke truck,,,,,and now with a new motor/heads...and pretty much everything I listed above...
....its now somewhere north 9K.......I really dont want to know....its too painful...

If I had the skill set to build my own motor, install it, and weld in the new exhaust system.....I could of shaved almost 2K off that...

Toyota is extremely proud of their parts...extremely...

hopefully you didn't pay that much for it......
remember what yota said in 'Empire Strikes Back' to luke when he said he's not afraid....'.....you will be....'

OP, it seems that you might be able to do 4 of the 7 suggested repairs yourself with a little guidance from the TW members here and maybe YouTube. For tires, take it to Discount tire, for your suspension work, find a trusted small shop and get a couple estimates, same goes with the tranny service. The others should be within your expertise and look at it as a learning experience if you've never did it before, saving money would be an added benefit.

If you cant do it yourself then your going to pay the price. I am not a mechanic but still manage to make most of my own repairs so I don't find myself in your situation very often. When I do get into something over my head my nephew is a mechanic and he takes over from there. I'm fortunate because I know I wont get gouged. Before he came along I had a mechanic that I trusted that did me right but it took awhile to find him with all the bad ones out there. Ask your family, friends and coworkers to recommend people and then you decide. Alot of times me and my buddies would just jump in and work on each others cars and hope for the best. You learn that way. Just buy the beer when its your car needing work.
