It doesn’t really do anything different or better than the current truck. Go buy one at its inflated price and tell us how awesome it is.

Sure it does. The fact that you don’t want the features doesn’t mean they aren’t real. It will be more comfortable, ride better, tow better, drive better, and dozens of other things.

You clearly don’t want one. I don’t see why you’re so invested in making sure nobody else does either

SR is probably the only trim I would buy, at least for the 4G. I want Xtra Cab, and for the price of the other trims I'd probably go with something else like a fullsize. I could probably get a 3/4 ton diesel for the price of some of the top end TRDs. I wouldn't mind a Trailhunter, or Pro but that's a lot of money for a midsize truck that looks cool.

Wouldn't an F-150 Raptor do all of that better than any TRD trim?

Maybe. I know I won’t be getting one for the price of a new tacoma, though

plus I don’t need the capabilities of a raptor, nor do I want to pay the fuel bill

My BS that inflation and more features explains price increases?

Rwd Xtra Cab, would be the best choice if fuel economy is a concern. You loose the rear link, and some HP, but those aren't necessary in a midsize truck. The rear link is going to do much any way over the leafs.

Bro. In a couple weeks dealers will have both 3rd and 4th gen trucks on their lots. The 4th gens are going to cost $8 to 10K more than the 3rd gens. There’s no inflation difference. It’s the same effing time period.

Yes, I run one size up from what comes on the OR 265/75/16 (basically 32”), TRD OR comes with 265/70/16 (31”) checked the speed by GPS, not off.

You can always change out the suspension too, buddy of mine put new on his OR was going to give me his take offs. Can find them super cheap in the classifieds as well. Stock cheap Hitachi rides fairly smooth though. Way better than the Old Man Emu that is on my 1st Gen.

Mine came with the SX package (unfortunately no longer available on the SR, they bumped it to the SR5) came with flares and aluminum wheels, also picked up a set of SR5 wheels for $200, that I run snow tires on (265/70/16). Even if it is the lowest trim, still a sharp looking truck. Like the grill better over the Pro & OR. Also like the dash better too, red hands on the speedo/tach, and it is all black except for the bezel around the hvac controls.

Knowing I can’t replace this truck with a ‘24 since they killed the AC, plus don’t really care for the 4G styling both interior and exterior. Makes me like the 3G even more.

It came debadged, I pulled the SX decal off the bed, no one can tell what it is other than the grill, which came on the SR5s too, but have a chrome trim piece around it, like the all black more on the SR.

here is the dash, not sure what the ‘23 looks like.

Part of the difference is inflation, part is new and better feature sets. And there’s probably going to be some market driven increase initially. You clearly don’t want this truck, no big deal.

Some of us do, even with those issues.

I mean, I absolutely do. You’re the one explicitly thinking you should get the equivalent to your truck for less than you paid after inflation.

I have never compared to my truck. It’s 9 years old. Of course there is inflation from 9 years ago to today. WTF? What there isn’t inflation from is today to tomorrow. That’s what the adults are discussing here.

Here you are openly asking for a far more feature-rich truck than yours for less than you paid:

And I’m the one who doesn’t understand inflation?

I love that the 2nd gen lovebois now have a new shiny target to poo poo over. Turd Gen is no longer the “overpriced complicated” one.
