Very minimal surface rust. Previous owner had it inspected by Tacoma back when it was warranties

Looks to be based on the description....6 lug that is a not a prerunner.

I'd say if it's not badly rusted you did well!

Errrm I don't know my second gen trim levels perfectly but --

    Isn't a the 2007 TRD Sport strictly 4-cylinder, 2-wheel drive?

If it has a 4WD switch in it that appears to work normally I think that would make it a TRD Off-Road??

Apparently it's basically an SR5 with extra "bling". Limited slip instead of rear locker

Yep, TRD Sports are SR5 with additional creature comforts (most years come with a so called "Sport Suspension" but IIRC they're just Bilstein 4600s), sport styled seats with bolsters, larger alloy wheels (DRLs and Side Mirror Turn Signals on 2012+ models) and the venerable non-functional SKEWP for hotboy points. I really wanted a TRD OR but ran into a similar situation like you OP, a good deal that I couldn't pass up. If it won't be your daily that'll wrack up miles fast, looks good for some fun especially if you're comfortable with the frame. Do you have the VIN to drop it into a VIN Lookup or the Toyota App for detailed specifications and options it might have? The used car lot I found mine on did themselves a disservice by not listing the options my eventual Tacoma had (TRD Sport, but it had the Sport Premium Package for some cool interior stuff).

EDIT: Oh, if you bought it already congrats! Nice color.

Love the SKEWP. Yea the miles don't scare me, and the frame is overall in pretty good shape for the midwest. A few spots where I'll wire wheel it and throw some rust converter on it to slow down any progression from surface to penetrative. And this is essentially a second vehicle for me as I walk to work and probably only drive a 5000 miles a a year tops. It does have a rip in the driver seat from 16 years of butt scraping, but I plan on fixing that asap. Ill have to check the VIN lookup for the specs! Thanks

It’s probably a good but not great deal. It’s 17 years old and even for a Taco 244,000 miles is a lot of miles. Mileage is the killer of all vehicles. I’d feel better about it if you were able to see the maintenance and repair records for 5 or more years. It’s a nice truck though. I wish you good fortune with it.
