From what I just read it is available with i-Force Max only, which is a bummer.
It is still a little murky without being able to configure the truck yourself as to what you can get

Let them keep looking, I feel like it is a cycle where they screw customers over and then will beg to get you in there once the economy slows down.

You folks should check this website to see if your dealer has a history of markups and then decide if you want to play their games or not.

Your point is irrefutable. Current rate of inflation is significantly less than year over year increases to the poverty-grade base truck, comparable-spec middle trims, and Limited. That’s before they take us to the woodshed on hybrids, Pro or Trailhunter by Neiman Marcus.

With the de-contending shell game, add a few basic items that used to be standard and a pretty good truck becomes a rolling tribute to feeling ripped off. Not sure that’s what previous Tacoma owners asked for.

Yup, to get full time 4wd you need the hybrid, otherwise it’s part time.

I have serious issues with the price changes on some models. Limited isn't one of them. Toyota actually made the Limited premium as the name implies, price should reflect that.

Definitely on the beginning part of work in progress.

There will be a sticky thread soon about "What did you pay for your 2024 Tacoma?" that will be more populated than that.

Tech isn’t cheap. Remember gotta pay for all the R&D too. Grew up in a family construction/retail business, you always get the people that go “I can build it cheaper!” I tell them then go do it then!

Don’t think majority of the people realize the amount of work and costs that goes on behind the scenes. That money has to come from somewhere, usually pushed to the consumer since union workers nor admin, board members, ceos, etc…like taking pay cuts.

Comparing the ‘23 vs ‘24 base SR, the markup isn’t bad. Like building houses, low spec is reasonable and high spec is going to cost you. Example: $4000 bathroom faucets exists…or you can choose the cheapo Home Depot $20 builder spec.

Get your logic out of here OpeCity, of course it didn't. But to channel all the other responses I will save them their energy and time!

    • Ventilated seats, why would I want to be cool in the summer just something else to break!
    • Heated steering wheel? My hands will get all clammy, I'll try to swerve to avoid an accident and slip and crash, what a disaster!
    • 14" display? Who wants a gigantic iPad glued to their truck. I don't care that the resolution is way better on the cameras!
    • Portable speaker?!? Don't even get me started, I don't have a YouTube channel.
    • Digital rearview mirror: If I need to see behind me I don't need fancy tech.
    • Brake controller from the factory? I rather have it hanging down and drill holes into my brand new truck.
    Please come on.
